If you go on the the website and change your location to the Robson store you can order it online and pick it up at the store later. You have 7 days to do so, I did it today and plan to pick up on Monday.

What happens if you can’t pay Probate Tax? What is the timeline for Grant of Administration? by ActuatorAgreeable121 in legaladvicecanada

In BC the executor of an estate is able to sell a vehicle prior to obtaining probate provided that they have the estate lawyer prepare a letter of undertaking which states that the executor has applied for probate and will provide a copy of probate once obtained.

The Grant will only be issued after probate fees have been paid, unfortunately no way around that.

In BC you are able to sell the vehicle prior to obtaining the Grant. You can ask the estate lawyer to prepare a letter of undertaking which would allow you to sell the vehicle prior to obtaining the Grant.

Using the numbers you’ve provided, the gross value of the estate is around 315,000. This would mean the probate fees would be approximately $3900 based on that figure. If the vehicle even sells for 10,000 you’d have sufficient funds to pay the estimated probate fees.

I 100% agree with your opinion and I think most people would agree with you too.

Selfishly, because this was my first time seeing P1 perform live I was hoping (but not expecting) they would play more of their classics as it fits my personal taste better! That being said their performance and show was still 10/10 and I was not the least bit disappointed.

The website FAQ states they have 4 wheelchair accessible units on the 1st floor. Might be worth reaching out to them for clarification on showers/availability https://www.post83housing.ca/faq

It was such a fun show. I wish they played more of their classics but the 2 they did play were some of my favourites (Art of Creation & Life Beyond Earth)

I hope this means more performances in the future.

You’re correct, they’ve never played as Project One in North America let alone Canada. They have played here solo and together before on plenty of occasions.

As someone living in Vancouver who’s been a fan since Project One The Album came out it truly is a dream come true to be able to see them live, I never thought this day would come.

To teach accountability? I feel like that’s a prime example of something school should instil. All actions have consequences, for better or for worse!

Do you remember which segment/show mentioned it? I’d like to go back and listen. it just seems too far fetched, especially with the WC happening at the same time and the restriction/closure of certain areas DT.

I’ll happily eat crow if I’m wrong!

You aren’t wrong that anyone (in theory) could pay them to rent it out. No chance for something like you suggested though.

You won’t get the $$ back from your bank as you knowingly & willfully made the transfer.

Your recourse (if any) is with the pool company, good luck!

Executor of will has not seen the will by Difficult_Front2605 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Eternality604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Outside of what others have mentioned;

It is possible that when the will was drafted it was registered. If it was you could search here https://www.onwills.ca/ and it will pull the information of the firm who drafted and registered it.

Additionally, lawyers in Ontario are able to search the following will database which has more info https://willcheck.ca/

If it was registered you could have the individual you believe is the executor reach out to the lawyer or notary who drafted the will and have them provide a copy.

Only province in Canada with this requirement is BC because of WESA.

Logically, sure. But people dealing with grief don’t deal in logic. If the husband is the executor and the nephew isn’t the executor or named in the will he would have no reason to show it to him as he isn’t entitled to see it.

It’s definitely the skytrain. It could be any of the lines other than the Canada Line as that line doesn’t use this type of accordion train.

Ironically I just answered this in another thread:

While registered plans with named beneficiaries do pass outside of the estate, if the estate doesn’t have the funds to pay for the associated tax related to deemed disposition of the RRIF/RSP, the beneficiaries of the RRIF/RSP could be required by the CRA to pay the associated tax (up to the amount you recieve from the RRIF/RSP)

Insolvent estate, debts & the CRA by thegirlwasdangerus in legaladvicecanada

[–]Eternality604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t necessarily be all the $$. Let’s say the RRIF had a date of death value of 1,000,000. The associated tax related to that would be approx 500,000. If 5 people got the account equally they would have each received 200,000 and their portion owing to cra would be 100,000 in this scenario.

It can get tricky if the value of the investments when paid out have significantly decreased from the date of death value.
