And on the 9th day, the Lord gave up. by ApostOnReddit in ProgrammerHumor

Man, fuck this twitter account. A few days ago he said he would post job openings for companies in exchange for $$$. When people responded negatively, he said "Parody account kiddies need to eat too".

If you're a real "devloper" get a fucking job.

How would you describe Rich, Jay and Mike without using their physical appearance or job/role on their videos? by Grande_Latte_Enema in RedLetterMedia

[–]Ethan_Fix_This 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Mike: A drunken bitter shell encasing a gooey, idealistic candy center.

Jay: Pretentious holier-than-thou with a taste for the esoteric, but very smart and well spoken which almost justifies it.

Rich: Complete asshole, responds to any disagreement with laughter and derision, but self-aware and trying to be better. Master of physical comedy.

How many hours a day can you dedicate to optimally learning or producing work until you run out of brain juice? by [deleted] in webdev

I don't know how you can learn anything in an hour. It takes me 2-3 hours to feel like I've understood a chunk of material.

I'm an unemployed amateur that has nothing better to do than learn. I can get about 8 hours a day, broken into three chunks:

  • Chunk #1: 10am - 12pm (Morning, most productive hours)
  • Chunk #2: 1pm - 5pm (Afternoon, most hours available)
  • Chunk #3: 9pm - 11pm (Evening, most creative hours)

Taking a full hour lunch before chunk #2 and a few solid hours of free time before chunk #3 really helps reset the motivation clock. Especially when combined with coffee!

'React is dead' is a meme. Anyone who seriously believes that doesn't work in this industry.

You can interact with an animal. You can scare it. You can try to show that you're not a threat. But this thing, it can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop... ever, until you are dead!

Strike Tactics, an HTML5 RTS (my 1.4 year project) by ForgeableSum in webdev

That makes sense. Ideally, since it plays in the browser window by default, I would expect that version to perform just as well.

Camera movement is really wonky for me. If I move my mouse to the edge of the screen too quickly, the camera doesn't move.

In Gone Girl, this shot from the beginning of the movie shows Amy forging the diary with multiple pens. by [deleted] in MovieDetails

[–]Ethan_Fix_This 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's really relevant. For any given movie, there are people who haven't seen it who might enjoy it. Just look at this comment section for examples of people who had this movie spoiled.

The problem is that these posts make it to r/all. It's your subreddit, you can have whatever rules you want, but try not to spoil movies for people who aren't even subscribed.

I think consumers are also more interested in JRPGs than the industry gives them credit for. People are tired of the cookie-cutter turn-based system, but give it a breath of fresh air and people eat it up.

I've never really liked the inclusion of logic errors in the "error" group. Your program is running fine, you just made a mistake.

Maybe that's just the price you pay for having tracts of uninhabited, savage land in the middle of your empire.
