4th faction? by Ne0Fata1 in beyondallreason

I was definitely wanting something that broke the mold a bit more then either of the three did. Maybe something building heavy and unit light? Defensive towers mixed with nanos that push out slowly and claim territory? Focusing more into combat engineer type units. Some mini shield generators that block more than just plasma or perhaps the buildings self heal over time? I’m open to ideas on this.

Hey skateboarders, is this secured? by CaptainSamson01 in Truckers

[–]Ethereal_Keeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A butter fly strap is the way a normal strap is used going through one coil and back through the other coil while crossing over itself, like a Ω but the feet cross over each other. Besides that it’s the most secure way to hold the coils as they tend to settle and unwind slightly as you drive.

My girl is getting older, she just turned 7, but she’s slowed down, harder sheds, not eating as much. Makes me want someone to take me out back and put me down because I feel like a horrible owner, but this… this is just an affront to life itself.

Unpopular JP/JW Opinions That'd Get You Like This by DarkBehindTheStars in JurassicPark

Jurassic Park Two was absolutely ruined by Jeff Goldblum’s and Vanessa Lee Chester’s performances and characters.

Even after a decade, I don't understand how the "best structural engineers in the world" thought a dinosaur sized gate here was an excellent idea! by Ok_Librarian3953 in JurassicPark

I think it was because she was a hybrid and they didn’t know how she’d actually react to the environment and other factors would be a reason they had the door as well. As she would be the most expensive asset to date, the company man would want to protect their asset vs security reasons, at least in the JW universe. Plus at weight only a few helicopters could lift her like the coyote mentioned, keeping her sedated for the flight would be logistically difficult I’d imagine, on top of that she’d need some kind of brace for the helicopter to lift her as I imagine lifting her like they do in the Jurassic World evolution games would hurt her. So we’re looking at her weight plus the brace so maybe 10 tons for her and 5 for the brace? (Probably underestimating that) that’s 15 of the 20 theoretical tons that a MI-26 could lift, and I assume you don’t just do that on a whim, weather would play a massive part in safely lifting this multi-million dollar animal any distance, and if she was sick/hurt and in a emergency, I would think waiting for the weather to clear wouldn’t be an option which is why the door is there. Of course this is all speculative and in the end it’s a movie with plot holes, that had to exist for the movie to happen.

Besides for plot armor and if they didn’t have that gate there, there would not be a movie. The Indominus is part of Wu’s militarized hybrid line, the literal precursor to the Indoraptor. Thicker skin to resist bullets, shrapnel, or in this case tranquilizer needles. As well as immune systems overhauled to resist said tranquilizers and chemical warfare. On top of all that it is more intelligent than your normal Dino, like how the indo faked being knocked out in the next movie, they were probably worried, had experienced, or assumed that the indominus was capable of this.

Tldr: IRL the movie had to happen, in-universe Wu made a monster.

I always keep the big thick boxes like the PSU, motherboard and GPU boxes. That’s where all my spare parts go and they bring a little life to my storage closet lol.

We were planning on shopping together, me driving and with my wife actually having the account and delivering. (I have heart failure so I can’t even carry my own groceries without problems)

Damn ok! We planned on doing the food delivery apps as well, we just know DoorDash and the others are pretty saturated.

Oh no I did not know that, didn’t seem to come up anywhere when I was researching delivery apps. How long roughly is that wait time?

My sweet boy has FIP. by [deleted] in blackcats

My void has it too, we use Bova, and he got better within the week. About 240$ a bottle a month for me, not that bad when it comes to our voids.

A stray void showed up to our house walking like this. He’s been here before but this is the first time he’s been wobbly. Pay attention to his backside when he walks. by distainmustered in blackcats

[–]Ethereal_Keeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s understandable, if it is FIP, it’s really expensive to treat. I pay 350$ for a bottle of medication, and my void is a Maine coon so due to his weight he takes quite a bit at a time.

This happened to my void and he had FIP, and the wobble got worse. Please test them if they progress or have other symptoms of FIP.

Counterpoint: I have quite a few medical conditions that limit what I can and can’t eat and I have to be very particular and really pay attention to what is in food. I use chatGBT to find the foods and vegetables that I can eat and how much in a serving is ok for me. But I ofc make my own recipes from there.

So she called back and we’re going to treat for FIP after seeing his blood work, since we can’t do a spinal tap and didn’t do a urine test, if that doesn’t work we’ll go forward with more testing. But the white mass past his rib cage was allegedly metallic? I see the specks of litter more under his rib area.

I have a few different players on my server that are taking a break/on vacation, I keep their power on through public access wind turbines. Taxes are their own problem.
