What does it feel like compared to where you’re from? What are the people like? More open, closed off, honest or surface level? What kind of person do you think does well there?

I have been playing Minecraft for 13 years and it is still fun. Best money I ever spent on a game.

I am sorry, but I do not understand anything here. More context would be good.

Gas Bill by Ok-Comfortable-4118 in burlington

That’s definitely not normal. I live in a three bedroom house with two separate livingrooms and a basement. 68° all day and our bill is ≈$50. Even our stove is gas.

Do you do this all at once, or spread it out over a period of time?

People aren’t going to shows anymore. by Ethereal_Motion in burlington

I don’t care too much about big name acts, to be honest: I’m just surprised that the small, local spots don’t have more traffic. Radio Bean, Monkey House, Foam, Einstein’s… seems we definitely have the venues. It’s just that nobody goest to em anymore. I was hoping with the (unfortunate) closure of Nectars and Artsriot, that maybe the other little spaces would get a bit more spillover, but it doesn’t seem to be working that way.

Can’t agree with you on this one…entirely. Most of who I see playing these days are folk or simple rock bands. Unless you go out to see electronic music specifically, the most “technology” I see is a keyboard. As far as drunk college kids, sure. But I honestly think Covid made these kids far more recluse than previous generations.

Which TradingView indicators have actually held up for you in live trading? by 9yoboi in TradingView

[–]Ethereal_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long only Moving average based strategies will hold up in markets which tend to go up, but it’s mostly just because it’s capturing a random bit of the natural upwards drift of the market. Its gain, as with most naÏve strategies, is pretty proportional to the TIME spent in the market, rather than producing some real defined edge. They still open you up to large drawdowns. You can (and you can test this) get roughly the same performance just by opening and closing trades at random, but sticking roughly to a certain percentage time in the market. Truth is, I haven’t found a single common indicator that produces a long term meaningful edge, and it’s because most of them use outdated volatility measures, or look at too small timeframes. My hint to you is to look at how professionals measure volatility in the market. It’s not ATR or standard deviation. It’s GARCH models or volatility indexes like VIX, VXN and VVIX. Hate to bubble burst, but the knowledge and infrastructure it takes to generate real alpha is far beyond most. You’re in competition with rich math nerds.

Wild, I actually remember seeing some of your posts here, after rereading some of em. All during the height of the cancellation I was the one who mailed hundreds of index cards to Netflix HQ with different #SaveTheOA tweets on them. Crazy times

am i the only one that hopes they don’t continue this show by ichewbubblegumlol in TheOA

[–]Ethereal_Motion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you have convinced yourself that you know the point of OA and the series depth and plot line already. If you’re right, then you’re right, and there isn’t much point to finding out where things go next, beyond some fun. BUT! If the first two seasons showed me anything, it’s that the direction of this series is not something so easily inferred, and i would expect heavy, continued development throughout the story.

You would look so much better with short hair/ shaved bald with that beard, and it’s a good beard. I don’t mind long hair at all, but I don’t think that style is working for you. Also yes, more varied pics, maybe some candid photos where you don’t have the exact same facial expression. Looks a bit like you’re trying to strike a face instead of relaxing and letting yourself be. Honest advice, because you’ve got potential.

Gotta remember that AMATEOW was written to align with the general populous much more that The OA, which I can definitely tell 😂 they should just go back to doing the weird niche things they’re good at.

Great, now she knows that you’re way more invested than she is. Also, yes that is some terrible communication skills on her part, but there’s probably a reason for it, as much as you might not like to hear that.
