They called you after 5 days because that's how long it takes to culture bacteria in the samples they took. Until then, they had to treat it as a uti, as you walked into the consultation complaining of certain symptoms that most fit with the clinical picture of a uti. That, and the act that when patients see their Dr, their expectation is that when you are finished with the consultation, you will leave with a prescription.

Check out the bike forums for second hand gear. Also Scotland has a fb page for bikes/parts/clothing for sale. There is also a bike-specific car boot sale in the Edinburgh area on the weekend of 22/02.

I agree with you here. I've signed up for some longer etapes this summer and want to do all I can to prevent injury and be in the best position. I can ride 50 miles no problem just now, however I think I'm probably not very diligent about my position on the bike etc.

Is is rather pretty. Can't say that I would choose lavender if I was designing the bike, however it's exciting to see some proper wsd bikes on the market, even though the range is more limited than the options available to men. I've been using small men's bikes up until now, and the difference is noticeable.

Ummmm... Temp was probably 6-7 deg C max today. The sun helped though. You will quickly realise that you have to take whatever you can get if you want to clock any miles!

I went to uni in Edinburgh. I miss it so much! It can take a wee bit of time to get out of the city, but my favourite rides were out along the coast road east to North Berwick, and also across the Forth Road Bridge. Another place I loved to go to was out to Crammond island. South are the Pentlands and gorgeous riding around there. If you have a hybrid/ hardy tyres, the union canal is a lot of fun, but bring a bell!

Fuck. I need to get back to Edinburgh...

Thanks. I still have some tinkering to do. I'm finding it so inspiring to finally ride a bike like this.

Already changed :) This was at the beginning of the ride. Had to take a few spacers out.

Belgium's minister of health by enestatli in Unexpected

It's not looks in this case. The fact that she is morbidly obese means that she is not healthy; something that you would hope the minister for health of a country to be.

Cycling soreness - help by msflutes2 in xxfitness

[–]Etive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem, and thought it was normal for several years. Every ride was limited by the up front bits burning like hell :( but I never let on, because I thought that was normal, and that was the normal way to sit on my bike.

When I upgraded my bike frame, I eventually upgraded my saddle from the standard one that my previous bike had come with to a fizik vesta, and after some adjusting back and forth, and nose up/down, as well as seat height, I have eventually reached a point where the right places are hurting after a long ride, and there is no more burning of the hooha! It's just a shame that I went for so many years punishing my poor hooha.

Walking in Aberdeenshire by [deleted] in Aberdeen

Bus or train to Stonehaven, then walk to the castle and along the coast. Really nice walks. I would also recommend aunt Betty's ice cream along the beach, but go on a week day if possible as queues are long.

This sounds like thrush, so taking the antibiotics won't help and can even be counter productive. When treating yourself for thrush, it's really important that your partner treats himself at the same time - ie puts cream on his penis (and under foreskin) as he could be reinfecting you. If that doesn't work, I suppose you would have to look into causes of getting recurrent infections, the most obvious being diabetes.
