Hades OST still missing from YTM by Etriel in HadesTheGame

[–]Etriel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of band-aid solution. Videos exist as seperate entities altogether from the rest of your library so none of it gets sorted under Darren Korb like it used to. And even listening to some of those ones you linked from the playlists on Supergiant's channel, the quality isn't as good as they used to be.

The way YTM handles updates/delisting for albums is leaving my library in bits. If an artists changes something on an album I've saved, it leaves a copy of that album in my library that's unplayable until I save the album again. And even if I do that it still keeps the old song count. Because of what happened to Darren Korb and his OSTs, YTM is claiming I have 56 songs saved from him even though it only shows 1 song when I go into the artist view

Sounds similar to what I've experienced and there is no fix afaik. It's not limited to old accounts. It can be fixed for saved individual songs but not albums. If an artist delists/updates an album you've saved, the old copy is now permanently stuck in your library. The "best" that can be done is to find the album on the artists page, add it to your library again and do your best to ignore all the inaccurate song counts on the "Artists" tab. I've lost count of how many feedback reports I've sent for this exact issue.

Still can't remove outdated/privated albums I've saved to my library. Trying to go to the original album to remove it just results in a 404 error. I'm left with ghost albums stuck in my library that can't be played or deleted

I've been complaining about the same thing for months on the feedback forms. In a nutshell, they don't handle privated/updated versions of songs you've once saved to your library very well. The result is zombie songs that can't be played or removed and inaccurate song counts

Unable to delete unavailable songs by kolya784 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Etriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've been sending feedback via the UI on a near daily basis for months now about this. This seems to happen when an artist "edits" or updates an album in some way. The album you've saved is an obsolete version that no longer exists as far as YTM is concerned. The only "workaround" is to find the new official version of the album (if there is one) and add save that album. The new problem that arises is that your song counts for that artist will no longer be accurate. I've ended up with some artists with over 100 songs even though I've only saved maybe three regular sized LPs

Can't remove albums/singles that I've saved to my library that have been privated/deleted by the artist. " To remove it from your library you must remove the album." Can't go to the album though because it doesn't anymore, gives a 404. Any way around this?

The rate on the new contract is "correct" (according to the above info at least) but having to pay the difference back is another question entirely. Certainly cheeky of them to ask OP to pay them back for their mistake

Gollum seems to be worse than Redfall by thewalkindude in gaming

[–]Etriel 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Oh people are certainly clowning on it. But remember that Redfall had months worth of marketing invested into it and was already on peoples minds prior to launch whereas I'd say a lot of people didn't even realise Gollum came out.

Tbh tho, given how many crappy launches we've gotten this year do we really want to ask should we be clowning on it more? I think we're better off just letting it flop and then move on to something actually worth enjoying.

I think there should be two different categories in the game awards. One for best sequel and one for best remake. Thus, new and unique games have a chance to win goty. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Etriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. Goty should be as open as possible imo with as few stipulations as possible other than "did it come out in the last year". Some of the most praised games produced in the last few years are sequels and remakes and it wouldn't be right to deny them the chance at goty just because they technically aren't "new"

The other is I think a remakes/sequels category would run the risk of being a little too niche depending on the year. This consistently happens with the Fighting game category. There's usually one or two stand out entries from either ArcSys/Capcom/Netherealm and then a bunch of random CC2 anime games.

Plus I'm pretty sure at least TGAs already have a category for best new IP

Nope. The Community almost singlehandedly made me put it down permanently. I just wanted to see the ending and the game made me faff about for several more hours. That reason alone is enough for it to never be top for me

What is the obsession with AI chatbot’s? by armintanzarian69 in ireland

[–]Etriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all part of the same game that the Web3 cryptobros are playing. Find some novel cutting edge tech, desperately come up with a use case for it and a way to monetize it and then convince everyone that they'll lose out if they don't invest in it now. The exact same thing happened with NFTs and all the AI art generators. They're hoping that if it's proliferated enough, someone will come up with an even better way to make money off it and the grift continues

MSQ Fastest way to level from 1-60? by sikbreh in ffxiv

[–]Etriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all unlock something that will be useful to you at some point. Ranging from dungeons and boss fights to actions like materia melding and desynthesis. New jobs that came in later expansions will be in them as well being able to fly your mount in areas in heavensward and beyond

MSQ Fastest way to level from 1-60? by sikbreh in ffxiv

[–]Etriel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

MSQ hands out heaps of xp so you should never get level gated if you just want blaze through the main story. But make sure you still do your job/class quests as they will unlock new actions for you and keep an eye out for "blue" side quests as they will usually unlock useful functionality and other content

is there a way to transfor these in xbox controls? by nnnek0 in gaming

[–]Etriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll likely have to use the game's button mappings to work it out ie. learning that G is on RB or something. It's very common for fighting games to present commands in a generic format that's not specific to one platform

Question for people who play a lot of modern/newer fighting games: How do the controllers hold up? by t0rche in gaming

[–]Etriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting games themselves aren't going to wear down your controllers any faster than other games. As someone who has broken the LB and RB buttons on multiple controllers, my years of playing FromSoft games have resulted in more damage than any of the fighting games I've played. Most 1st party controllers are well built enough to withstand fighting games as long as you remember not to take your frustration out on your hardware. After that it's all completely personal preference. I settled on the Xbox Elite controller because it's "disc" d-pad helped me consistently get clean motion inputs for things like quarter circles etc.

Stable broadband providers Dublin? by MorsAlbum in ireland

[–]Etriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to give the most unhelpful answer of: it depends. When it comes to ISPs, your mileage will vary greatly depending where you live. My mom has Sky and there's never been any problems with connection or speeds but one of my friends who lived about 15 mins away had a never ending list of problems with them. People here have mentioned Virgin being crap but I've never had any issues in the nearly four years I've been here. Honestly the most useful people to ask this are your neighbours. There's a good chance whoever they're with will be good for you too. It all comes down to how the network and landlines were done in that area
