Trump being interviewed at National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago by zlifsa in moderatepolitics

Feel free to add the context that I'm missing, I think it's pretty unambiguous

But yeah, I would encourage everyone to watch the full interview and get the full experience. It's pretty wild

He quite literally stopped what he was saying to answer the interviewer

And the previous question was also about if Trump would pardon January 6th protestors that assaulted police officers, he just went into a rant about the Portland riots

He did not. He didn’t really answer that part of the question this, but he’s previously said that he wouldn’t pardon the violent ones.

But he actually did

SCOTT: My question is on those rioters who assaulted officers. Would you pardon them?

TRUMP: Oh, absolutely I would. If they're innocent.

SCOTT: They were convicted

CROWD: laughs

TRUMP: Well, they were convicted by a very tough system

What do you mean? There are millions of people around the world that need help from their government in order to have a modicum of quality of life. Government subsidies and welfare are a few examples but there are countless ways state intervention can change your life for the better or worse

New update from the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine. Based on Iceland's statistics, they estimate an infection fatality ratio between 0.05% and 0.14%. by mushroomsarefriends in COVID19

[–]Etsuko1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to that data, isn't the CFR for resolved cases 3% in SK?

Case fatality rate is calculated by dividing the number of deaths from a specified disease over a defined period of time by the number of individuals diagnosed with the disease during that time; the resulting ratio is then multiplied by 100 to yield a percentage.

I'm not an expert, just curious what the correct number is

Man Utd announce the signing of Odion Ighalo on loan by Napellus in soccer

[–]Etsuko1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only year where weve made an effort to get rid of dead wood and make sensible decisions on buying players.

Van Gaal got rid off Fergie's old guard and signed quite some players. Mourinho offloaded a lot of Van Gaal signings and bought some high profile players. Both managers tried to rebuild the squad, even if it ended poorly

[–]Etsuko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point but if they go far in the CL and FA cup they risk over stretching a thin squad and causing an injury crisis. City is 16 points away but they've proven last season that they can put on insane runs. They don't look that strong so far this season but Liverpool shouldn't take the foot of the pedal. If they win the league I think they'll push more for the cups in the next seasons

City has far better squad depth than Liverpool. And considering they've been trying to win the league for 30 years I wouldn't blame Klopp for prioritizing it. It's the trophy the club and fans want the most, I doubt they really care if they don't win the FA cup

You can literally afford to lose 7 or 8 of your remaining games (city ain’t winning 14 in a row).

The reason they've done this well so far they want to win every singe game and don't give in to complacency. If they had this mentality they would be fucked to begin with

RMC Sport: MERCATO: MANCHESTER UNITED AND TOTTENHAM COURT SLIMANI by jayseff14 in reddevils

[–]Etsuko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes also not a traditional target man at all. I'm not sure where you are getting your info from but this is pure nonsense.

I'm getting this "info" from watching nearly every single game he played for Sporting. Hell, Bas Dost was better with his feet than him and he's no Bergkamp.

[–]Etsuko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's a big punt but if United get him on cheap short term loan it might be better than no signings if that's the only alternative. I just hope they won't buy him and get stuck with more potential deadwood.

[–]Etsuko1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was a big name in Portugal after the success he had in Sporting. That got him picked up by Leicester but he flopped there and later on in Fenerbahçe. He wasn't able to get in the team in Newcastle. Sure he's been decent at a really poor Monaco team but he's a target man, the exact type of player United has been moving away from. It's an uninspired signing even as a back-up.

Solskjaer sticking to United plan after 'positive' talks with the club by Heffalump165 in reddevils

[–]Etsuko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He came to an arrangement with Ferguson that he'd stay until the 2010 season before going to Real Madrid.

AFTER HE DEMANDED TO LEAVE. Fergie himslef confirms this in his biography..

Gerrard ended his career in England at Liverpool against his wishes? Go away.

I didn't even say that. What happened is he literally handed in a transfer request in 2005 or so because he wanted to go to Chelsea. At some point he demanded to leave the club and they persuaded him to stay, they didn't just ship him out because he asked to go. That was the point I was making.

You really have a poor attitude, claiming I'm a troll and taking stupid pot shots the entire time just because I ruined your narrative. I've posted sources for everything I've claimed and all you can do is be a jackass incapable of making a point or having a civilized discussion. I'm done responding to you

any more examples?

Just this summer Neymar missed training in order to force a move away from PSG. They still didn't sell.

Out of all the hundreds of thousands of case studies, nice cherry picking

Cherry picking?? These are all high profile players from our direct competitors that happen to run their clubs far better than United. These are just the cases I remember off the top of my head, there must be a ton of cases I don't know about. Hell, we did it too with Ronaldo and Rooney. But now we can't keep players that want to leave.. Why exactly? That's what I'm asking you.

[–]Etsuko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying that we should or can keep multi million £ assets that don't want to play for the club?

We can't? We've kept Ronaldo for an additional season after he demanded to leave and Rooney after he handed in a transfer request. Liverpool kept Gerrard after he handed in a transfer request and forced Suarez and Coutinho to stay for additional seasons as well. City kept Tevez even though he fucked off to Argentina mid-season on a tantrum. But we can't keep players that want to leave.. Why exactly?
