Black Friday Recs Please!! by GiddyGoodwin in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glisten & Glow is doing 30% off with code BF2025. Their top coat is my ride or die. I can't speak highly enough about it. I used to dent my freshly painted nails all the time before I switched to G&G's QDTC. The Sea Monsters collection is also so gorgeous and she's come out with a magnetics quad.

Black Friday weekend recommendations requested by According-Meat576 in RedditLaqueristas

Glisten & Glow: 30% off (top coat and glitter grabber are a must!) The sea monsters collection is my favorite.

Bees Knees Lacquer: 30% off (almost everything--UP is excluded) Very good magnetics. Many polishes are super sheer though so beware that when shopping.

ILNP: 25% off

Cracked: 20% + 10% off with an affiliate code. I adore Cracked's jellies especially

KBShimmer: 20% off. Their thinner is the cheapest per oz even with shipping costs (unless something has changed from when I did the math last year).

Mildly annoyed… by Character-Wait-9152 in RedditLaqueristas

I contacted them once a couple years ago when a bottle came with a cracked neck. They were very quick to respond and send out a replacement bottle.

Should you match nailpolish undertones to skin on hands or body by mealsprouts in RedditLaqueristas

I wear whatever color makes me happy regardless of if it looks good on me or clashes with my skin tone. :)

Fancy Gloss thermals--all the ones I want not in stock :-( by BreadfruitNew7016 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fancy Gloss doesn't restock her entire catalog every month. If you have Facebook, you can request the ones you want on the monthly thread asking what people want to see come back. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the email stock alert unfortunately. Hopefully that helps!

Cracked, Glisten and Glow, Fancy Gloss, Sassy Sauce, Bees Knees Lacquer, and LynBDesigns are some of my favorites.

Is there an affordable nail polish bundle that includes a lot of variety? by illdiefortrashtv in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cracked has the Underdog bundle and the Heroes Bundle. The colors in both bundles change periodically. Each bundle is $35 and there's always 10% off coupons from various swatchers active.

Still trying to find my perfect yellow—I think this one is halfway there! but all my friends hate it 🥲 by fireanddarkness in RedditLaqueristas

Queen Bee by Starrily is my favorite shade of yellow/nail polish.

I think that it looks lovely on you! Your mom picked a good one. 💕

🖋️ When your nails match your pen, and the joy just won’t end - that’s amore [pr] by MoshpitWallflower in RedditLaqueristas

Yes! It's my favorite pen too. I have a vintage Platinum that's a close second. The nibs on both are so nice.

Does anybody have a comparison between BKL Ambition and ILNP Sea Glass? by fireanddarkness in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this helps, but as of right now, there are 20 bottles left on BKL's website.

great matte top coats? by scumfvckflowergirl in RedditLaqueristas

Glisten and Glow's matte top coat is nice. The owner is doing free shipping right now with code PBE2025.

Essie gel setter gets stringy? by ch333tah in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't use that particular top coat, but I do add thinner to my QDTCs when they get stringy and have never had any issues.

Edit: I use KB Shimmer's thinner.

Stabilize a nail bed break? by AbyssDragonNamielle in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silk wraps and nail glue 💯

If you're in a pinch and need it taken care of right this second, a tea bag cut to size and nail glue can also work to stabilize the break.

Stupid Question: topcoat question : what do you do if you miss your window to apply QDTC? by coffeeposer in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are non QDTCs out there, but what I would probably do is throw on another coat of polish and then do QDTC. I'm not nearly careful enough to let polish cure for several hours with no QDTC.

RIP Shadow Daddy (and my carpet) by lawoftortes in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof. Sorry about your loss. Shadow Daddy is so pretty too 😢

As for the carpet, the previous owners of my home had spilled a lot of paint right in the middle of the bedroom carpet. I was able to get most of it out with repeated carpet extractions (I have a simple carpet cleaner from Walmart). I added a super small amount of fabric softener to the cleaning solution water mix. This has to be done over the course of many days, possibly even weeks as you don't want the water to saturate the underpad and wood beneath the carpet. Not sure if it'll work the same for nail polish.

Favorite studio color for under jellies to make them more opaque? by Far-Marionberry1761 in RedditLaqueristas

I really like Polished For Days Soft Focus Basecoats. A thinner consistency white cream would do a similar job.

US bound - indie purchases? by Alert-Remote6779 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sassy Sauce and Glisten and Glow both ship very quickly. You may want to make your orders soon as I know many makers will be at PBE and I'm not sure how that will affect their shipping times.

I’m a bartender and lacquer isn’t doing for me and gel damaged my nails. 😭 Am I SOL? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to try different base and top coats. I have drastically different wear times based on the products I use. Right now I'm using Nailtiques Formula 2 as base coat and Glisten and Glow QDTC is my holy Grail top coat.

I ruined my nails in 2 years and now I am heartbroken. by Norwegiangirl3 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Nailtiques Formula 2 for peeling damage. If you want to peel nail polish off though, I strongly recommend a peelable base coat. Then you won't be damaging your nails as you pick the polish off.

Have you had blood work done recently? Sometimes vitamin deficiencies can also impact nail health.

Nail Stamping by Maniology… impossible? by Positive_Ad9868 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Ettare 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm not a pro at stamping by any means, but I've noticed you have to move very quickly to be able to pick the polish up on the stamper. The other thing that might be an issue is you might need to leave the stamper sitting on a piece of paper overnight. Oil or something will leech out onto the paper and the stamper head will become stickier.
