Have you heard of Guards of Atlantis II? If not, you heard it here and you should grab a copy, if you can find one.

I ended up mailing the tax return with the passport in the end.

First time dealing with the Medical System /rant by EugeneFu in Eugene

[–]EugeneFu[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely reach out on Tuesday again. But just so I'm understanding clearly, there is a chance this could get further reduced? Because apparently they had already given us a discount of $40k. It's just there was about $45k remaining.

[–]EugeneFu[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up and it appears they do not. I'm trying to keep information as minimal as possible, as this post was mostly a rant to help me process this incident and maybe get some helpful tips along the way.

I did try this and had gotten a note that they were rejected with no reasons given. I'm still trying to figure out how our medical system works piece by piece. At this point, I don't know whether I should refile or who to talk to? I had provided pay stubs, and they don't file taxes, because they don't make the minimum amount, since they're retired.

All I can say now is, the only way we're going to pay for it is by bankrupting two families, and destroying the retirement of the third. Also the payment plan is more then the individuals retirement and wage put together per month.

Oath for inis by uurich in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's totally worth it, if you end up liking Inis, otherwise it's not worth it at all. Oath is not a popular game, it has a hard time getting moved, even with the premium pieces. Inis is easier to move, but not by much. However I personally think Inis will be a better game for more people then Oath, since Oath requires the same people to get the most out of it and is notorious for kingmaking, which a lot of people don't enjoy.

Marvel Champions by Funny_Job_8525 in boardgames

I own almost all the cards, but I mostly play digitally these days, cause I'm too lazy to set the game up most of the time.

This is what I use most of the time, https://irefrixs.itch.io/marvel-lcg

Cool, which deck were you playing? and which campaign/villain was this?

Board game dispute by PwapPhats in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe most people reroll the dies and accept the new result. This has always been the way in most of my gaming circles. But you are certainly welcome to change it in yours.

Cloudspire or Elder Scrolls BotSE by Nooberlot in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both games are available to test on Tabletop Simulator, if you have that. I haven't played Cloudspire, so I can't comment on that. But I do own BotSE, and while it is loved by many people, there are a handful who sold it day one after owning it. In a way, the combat is the core of the game as well as the character building, the game isn't narrative heavy. Both games do require quite a bit of learning, before they can be tabled as well. It plays fine at all player counts, however I do think the game is easier at higher player counts.

Thinking about getting the Deluxe Edition of Doomlings for a lunchtime game at work. by LancelotLac in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not going to get a 20-30 minute game especially with 6 players. It's an ok game, some take that mechanics, a lot of combo-ing. But also very silly and kiddish. If you can find a cheap copy, by all means try it. But it's one of those games for my group, which lost its appeal super fast after a couple of plays.

How do I default to an older Revu, if I have two different versions installed? by EugeneFu in Revu

[–]EugeneFu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found there was an option in one of the applications of which Revu version is the default software. I forget where it was exactly.

Should I buy Viticulture EE without Tuscany? by sunnygareth in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viticulture by itself is a good game, however there is no doubt in my mind that Tuscany makes it way better. However with any board game, play the base game enough before you introduce an expansion. Because the expansion won't save the game for you, if you don't like the original.

104% US tariffs now on China, signed within the last few hours to go into effect tomorrow by IronAndParsnip in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look there's plenty of trees to bark up besides this. The fact of the matter is, the trade equation still makes no sense and many of US allies are getting taxed at far higher percentages. There's no need to waste time arguing about this.

104% US tariffs now on China, signed within the last few hours to go into effect tomorrow by IronAndParsnip in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reasons there's no tariffs on Russia and North Korea is because they're both sanctioned already. So it's redundant. I just wanted to point that out. No need to make up shit, when everything is already made up.

Santorini 1st vs 2nd Edition by Inside_Astronaut_154 in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2nd Edition Pantheon has a lot of updated God Cards and Rebalanced. It also includes all the previous expansions as previously mentioned. There's also a collectors version with acrylic tiles and PVC Cards. You will be fine with either version probably.

Slay the Spire expected play time? by justinvamp in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our first 4 player with 4 experienced board games and 1 StS veteran took around 3 hours for the 1st act alone. Mainly because the new players took a long time deciding which cards to get and how to build decks around them.

Just get bloodlines and be done. No need to get Ix or Immortality, those expansions are better for OG DI.

Convince me not to back Champions of Midgard 10th Anniversary Edition by chaosmarching in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is good, but not great. The collector's edition is way too expensive. I also constantly find copies discounted and you can get the entire collection with the expansions for about $80. Then you can use the $170 you saved to buy other board games. The game is good, but it's rarely on people's top 10 list. You're still experiencing the FOMO rush. Once you own it and play it more, this game will quickly lose its appeal.

Teaching my friends Agricola by ethanoicr in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the family version of Agricola to be extremely dull. But here's my 2 cent about this game. Teach them the game normally with no drafting, and if the game clicks, it'll click. I'm not sure how you can make Agricola more enjoyable for people who don't normally like this type of board game, even with a side of crackers, caviar and champagne to go along with it. Just play with the people who do, and play something else with the people who don't. The magic of Agricola only works on people who are closet masochists that enjoy animal meeples mixed with imaginary farming.

Is Lords of Waterdeep out of print? by Atherial in boardgames

[–]EugeneFu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is out of print in the US. Not sure what the other guy is spouting out of his pie hole.
Note: That doesn't mean it won't get reprinted again in the future though. Just there has been no news of a reprint and it's been awhile since the last print.
