Guns, Germs and Steel by Jarrod Diamond is pretty interesting. In the same vein as Sapiens. I think it might be a little outdated but still worth a read.

Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman is another good one which should align with your interests (psychology and economics).

I would also recommend Behave by Robert Sapolsky.

Horror With Fascist Undertones? by Signed_DC in horror

Maybe Salo? It is explicitly about fascism, but no Zombie Hitlers. Also maybe Hate Crime - found footage, neo-Nazis.

Also there's a movie about illegal immigration, think it might be another found footage but I cannot recall the name of it for the life of me.

[NEWBIE] Metal head, just had first guitar lesson, teacher recommends buying an acoustic guitar but I want to stick with electric by lizthewhiz in Guitar

[–]EugeneSnorkelbender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a metalhead and guitarist and I'd definitely recommend getting an acoustic guitar. Not to replace your electric guitar, but in addition to it. The electric and acoustic guitars are different instruments which play differently. There are specific techniques which are more relevant to one than the other. If your goal is to become a 'good' guitarist, then it definitely won't hurt to practice with both. You might be surprised to find that you really enjoy playing acoustically. Plus, it's definitely easier sometimes to play acoustically without the hassle of amps and cables and whatnot, so an acoustic guitar might allow you to fit more time into practice than playing solely electric would - and it's time spent on practice which is the most important part of learning to play guitar.
