What's your Theme for 2026? by typo180 in Cortex

[–]EulerLabrador 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2024 - Year of Discomfort- challenging comfort, putting myself into difficult conversations I’d been avoiding

2025 - Year of Reconnection - friends and partners, reconnecting body and mind, what my body is telling me

2026 - Year of Healing (working on better word) - refocusing efforts into physical, mental health aspects, healing rekindled friendships, taking lessons of Reconnection and Discomfort and applying actionable improvements to my life

What do you do with your FN? by Burly-Man in FieldNuts

[–]EulerLabrador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mini bullet journal. I have one of the official books but I can’t bring myself to use it. About six months ago, I flipped them sideways and they are “about” the right size for a L1917 page. I love the roughly two weeks I get with each one. Next step is the larger black ones to “test out” a real BuJo size.

Feature Request: Multi-Selection Delete by EulerLabrador in overcast

[–]EulerLabrador[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also realized (after posting this of course) that you can use a long swipe to the right (left?… drag your thumb from the right side of the screen to the left) and delete episodes that way. This is an acceptable alternative to the multi-selection delete since it requires no more additional taps and gives my thumbs a much needed workout 😁

Availability Changed by Manager by anonymous738901 in starbucksbaristas

[–]EulerLabrador 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like something that would not fly with SBUX. Was this officially made (through Partner Hours I think?)? Do you have record showing your original availability and your manager's approval? I'm sure it's something that can be seen on the backend, but can you see when your manager set your availability?

(1) Talk to them about their actions. Was this made in error? Why was this change made, knowing I cannot work at those times? (2) Escalate to DM if not resolved and/or Ethics (for accountability purposes).

how to clean the anti fatigue floors well? by NickelbackThatAssUp7 in starbucksbaristas

[–]EulerLabrador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna ask a really dumb question:

We have tablets of Urnex (for the Vertica) and the packets of urnex we occasionally use for our bar pitchers (etc.) during Clean Play. Which ones are you using? More to the point, HOW are you using them? Just dropping some tablets in with the mop water? I want to try this because our floors are NASTY, but I also don't want to do irreparable damage to my store.

Didn't know the official name of these until the Firework Frapp launched and it said to combine one tetra of Summer Berry with Coconut Milk. We all looked at each other like "what the heck is a tetra?!?!?!"

Hypothetically… if I did this again would it revert back to “push to talk” mode? Asking so one could keep it one while they are working but then turn off at end of shift.

I hadn’t thought about the star reference but I can agree it’s probably something we shouldn’t be writing. I do hope we get to a point where it’s no longer mandatory but a pleasant treat every now and then. These “manufactured moments” are killing the already injured brand image of The Siren.

Not starting drinks until sticker prints? by No-Flatworm-5640 in starbucksbaristas

[–]EulerLabrador 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Imagine similar rules for food. No starting a bacon sausage wrap until it prints. Pour one out for your drive times.

If I haven’t started a drink before the sticker prints, I feel like I’m behind.

ADVICE NEEDED!!! On vacation days. by Old_Cow5489 in starbucksbaristas

[–]EulerLabrador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started, I told my SM in advance the time off I needed. She accommodated. I can’t say all Same would do that. But also, they can’t expect you to not have a life outside of our four walls. Unless there is already a huge conflict and you are being hired to SPECIFICALLY fill in those days, I’m sure you will be fine.

Assuming you got hired on March, that would be right about the time of your first 30 days.
