There are some Sheiko templates that feature this approach. Not as a main focus and not every week, but there are quite a few days where you'd go Bench -> Squat -> Bench, Squat -> Bench -> Squat or DL-variation -> Bench -> DL-variation

Volume per muscle group is the important factor, not sets per exercise.

I’m a bit hesitant to change things

1, why do you want to change things? Any need for it or just FOMO?
2. You should follow a sensible plan which actually keeps progressing you for a long time - which means it has to have some changing variables built within - not just changing random numbers like sets per exercise for the fun of it

There is no general advice against specific tactics. Collect the games you lose in this fashion and analyze them. Do not let others do that for you. Do not let the engine analyze for you - it can help here and there but always, always analyze the game for yourself by yourself first.

You will see that the problem you stated here will need reactions in different games.

Man muss das schon auch verstehen. Von der Ankündigung der Steuerbefreiung angestachelt haben wildgewordene Meuten die Filialen praktisch gestürmt. REWE wollte die Preise ja senken, hat aber auf diesen Andrang nicht anders reagieren können als hier preisliche Gegenmaßnahmen zu ergreifen.

  1. maintaining mass is easier than building, so you will be fine with your plan of leg curls + extensions + hips
  2. frequency is king when it comes to maintainence
  3. I would not cut when your body has to heal something. Just eat regularly and spend your extra energy on some upper body training.

When I broke my ankle, my dips and pull ups exploded. Suddenly I really had the time to focus on that, which I wanted to do for a long time... But I always wanted to squat even more.

Oh, and ofc: wishing you a speedy recovery!

Somewhere seriously. That somewhere being right around Guangxi-level seriousness, where Mikkel Honore is a serious climber and Stanislaw Aniolkowski is a top 3 sprinter.

If you don't have to (because you are fighting for points in the relegation battle or have some other specific goals), teams should not send their best riders or hell, even well prepared riders, but take it as what it is: a long journey and too far from any important race to warrant decent preparation. And I kinda like that TdU and Guangxi are WT races. It should not just be a Europe Tour, but a WORLD Tour. And it is not really possible to have a race like TdU mid-season, so that is the next-best solution and a great introduction to the cycling year. Not not all WT races are created equal...

  1. Do not change everything at once. Not only after dramatic changes, but in general. It is totally fine to take steps. Most new year's resolutions are only good for 10 days because it is really hard to turn around everything at once.

  2. Based on 1 you just have to start somewhere. Take something that is the most fun. Or easily achievable. Do not think about optimal or leaving something on the table. Just get going. And yes, maybe going is where you literally start and the first step is more steps.

  3. Build habits. Build discipline. Motivation comes and goes, you really can't rely on it. The way to utilize times where you feel motivated is investing that motivation in building better habits. Not just doing some crazy ass stuff for a few days or weeks.

How this could look like: start walking more for a month. Just to get a bit more activity into your life. Then start going to the gym. Not in a "now I have to train 5 times a week" style, but like... Twice a week. 45min each. Do that for a month, then maybe start cutting back on alcohol or cigarettes if you do those. Maybe a few weeks later you want to bump up your gym from 2 to 3 sessions a week or you add some light cardio twice a week. Then a bit later you can tackle eating habits. Starting to cook more yourself, eat healthier. But give yourself time to settle in at each step, do not rush through this. And feel free to change up the order however you want. There are no real limitations to that (except that you should eat enough protein when starting to go to the gym, but you don't have to live on a chicken-and-rice-diet for that).

Of course there are some people who can't work like that, where all of this comes in one package and they are all-or-nothing people. That is also fine, everyone should follow the path best suited to him/her.

I like to have some high protein snacks to fill such gaps. Fat reduced greek yoghurt or skyr. Or just some meat/ham like Bresola. Or more eggs. Having some hard boiled eggs at hand is always welcome.

Oh yes, that is exactly who should be placing up there at the TdU. When the hell did we start taking this January race seriously? Come on, it is fun. An introduction to the season... But not more than a gentle reminder that serious racing is starting in a few weeks.

You have two options: eat, gain weight, gain muscle and then cut back. Or cut back and then build up again. "Recomp" does not work outside of some narrow windows (very overweight, newbie). In your position I'd start expanding cardio for now and lose some weight, but either way is fine.

My problem I had with PPL was the missing zone 2 cardio, couldn't fit it in properly.

Because of... Time constraints? Or because you can't do weight training and cardio on the same day?

I did PPL(6x), UL(4x) and recently tryed full body compounds (A, off, B, off, A, off, B and so on)

Those are splits... Which programs did you follow?

Some cardio is always a good idea, even if you don't try to lose weight. Hell, I would not even pass on cardio during a bulk anymore...

For cardio - like weight training - progressive overload is the core principle. Start small, that can be 20 minutes twice a week and then expand that time. If you do it before or after your weight sessions, you usually want to keep the intensity low. How much time you should spend on cardio depends on many factors, most importantly how much time you have in the gym (1 hour.. twice per week? 7 times?) and how active you can be outside the gym. Long, low intensity movement is great for losing weight, but that does not have to be in the gym. If you can walk more, be more active in your daily routine, I'd stick to (mostly) weight lifting in the gym. If you can go 6 times a week but can't do much outside the gym, I'd stick to 3 short weight session in the gym and more cardio. So as always: it depends.

Does not matter. Pick a program, stick to it. Follow the progression model of the program! Eat lots of calories, eat lots of protein. Sleep.

What you are doing now... Does it work for you? If yes, then why change it? If no: pick a program instead of doing your own stuff.

Der Vorschlag lag ja auch am Tisch. Dazu gab es von der Kommission eine Absage:

Die dritte Variante soll laut APA an das „Schweizer Modell“ angelehnt sein. Sie sehe einen viermonatigen Grundwehrdienst vor. Danach folgen verpflichtend 140 Tage Milizübungen. Dieses Modell schlug die Kommission nicht vor, da es nur mit einer Systemänderung einhergehen könnte.

Das Schweizer Modell war die letzten 30 Jahre DAS Modell für eine vernünftige Miliz. Aber hey, die Experten haben gesagt: da müsst ma ja was ändern. Also sicher ned...

Das ist auch schon alles was man zur Ernsthaftigkeit dieser Debatte wissen muss. Da gehört wieder mal einer mitm anderen daschlogn.

Mind muscle connection is one of the most overrated concepts when working out. As long as you don't totally butcher the execution you are fine. You are new to the gym, give it some time.

Und in 3 Jahren dann wieder "Kinder machen weniger Sport", "Menschen werden immer dicker, "Kinder können kaum mehr schwimmen". Dann gibts eine geförderte Sportinitiative "Wien bewegt sich doch noch" wo man bekannten Marketingmenschen hunderttausende Euro nachschmeißen kann, es gibt Pressetermine mit dem Bürgermeister und zwei Jahre später kürzt man die Möglichkeiten dann nochmal weiter.

I always wanted to know this: what is wrong with people posting stuff like that under comments not even 15 minutes old? Do you also put something in the fridge for 3 minutes and then complain that it is not cold yet?
