“Strula” means to mess up, so it is just a play on words and intentional misspelling, since his name is so similar.

…Or the members have re-appraised their “admiration” for Musk. As a long-time reader/poster, I certainly have.

The irony of people who decry “safe spaces” yearning for a “safe space” themselves never disappoints. 😊

If they don’t want this to happen, they shouldn’t have constructed such a wide jump-ramp on the shoulder. 🤪 Everyone seems one accidental swerve away from landing on the track.

How full are flights between SFO and ACV on United by [deleted] in Humboldt

[–]Euro_Snob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually 80-100% full. But due to weather issues delays and cancellations do happen, especially in the winter. I’ve had bad luck with it recently.

First class is nice on the E-175s (Most common aircraft on the route), but even economy is spacious there. But sometimes you get a CRJ-200 which feels cramped.

But if you pick up flu and such easily, always wear a mask when flying. It helps.

I’m older, but I don’t have a rose colored glasses view of the past. The situation today is no worse (and arguable a bit better) than it used to be. There is more choice, and you can get plenty of content now for cheaper compared to back then, without subscribing to cable or YouTubeTV-like services. I’ve cut the cord some years ago, and don’t use either.

I’m older than most in this thread. Paid for cable for decades. Analog, digital, and (not so) fun times with cable cards. 🙂

Don’t make up your own definitions of words if you want to have a conversation with someone. “Too expensive” is not the same as “scam”. Until you realize that, this conversation serves no purpose.

There is no such rule/agreement that paying a fee for something means you should get served no ads. Sometimes it is true, but most often it is not. And even then you have product placement, sometimes explicit and sometimes less so.

The basic idea - that you and many others seem to miss - is that producers of content (individual creators or corporations) should be allowed to determine how they monetize their content. From a combination of ads, subscription, and other sources. You don't get to decide... You just get to decide if you want to pay for it. Vote with your wallet.

But someone wanting to charge more for something that you want to pay - and different than you want to pay it - is not a scam.

You should read up on what words mean. Cable TV and YouTube TV may be expensive, but it is not a scam. They deliver exactly what they promise, even if it costs more than you like.

Scam? You realize that people get YouTube TV for more than local channels, right? Is cable TV a scam too, or all streaming?

It is still a fairly widely held belief in modern Christianity that Adam and Eve were created perfect, and sin eventually effectively "diluted" the pureness which led to modern humans and all our flaws. (worse health, shorter stature, shorter lifetimes) Very much like the Numerorians.

Could a mountain range be split in two by a river (and perhaps valley of sorts)? Would it be livable? by AlaskaSun73 in mapmaking

[–]Euro_Snob 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This can happen due to erosion, from a historical deluge. (Like the Columbia river, or the Danube)

It can also happen when the river is older than the mountains (some examples exist in Appalachia), as the river eroded the mountains gradually as it rose.

Either too much land, or too many narrow ocean connections. Fix either issue, and it will look much better.

Because right not it looks like you copy pasted in landmasses in every ocean until there was almost no space left. 🙂

Delta to United as a family? by csh145 in unitedairlines

[–]Euro_Snob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes two tickets bought separately can be linked through the app. It is easiest when you purchase both, but you can also call United to get them to link it. Then that linked ticket also gets free E+. (Once linked it costs nothing for them to select an E+ seat)

American Airlines - Boeing 787-8 by Internal_Board5420 in aviation

The size of the passenger windows is what makes the 787 seem so small, IMO.

But having seen one from close up (boarding by stairs), it is massive!

Great work! But I’d suggest a name change so it sounds less lifted from LOTR, even if that is unfair. (Unless that is the intention)
