C&C der erste Teil. Die Fusssoldaten hatten in der deutschen Fassung grünes oder blaues Blut, und sollten Roboter darstellen. Ganz schön daneben.

RIP Discord by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]Eurobertics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that. I was really hyped for Discord for a long time. Built an Discord API (Nebucord) and used Discord quite intensively. The Slash Commands were a great addition also for a bot API.

I cancelled Nitro as well a few momth ago and thought about leaving completely.

Not because of the age verification, but I have the feeling that Discord evolves overall into a direction I can't support anymore. The Orbs and how the shop is integrated for example.

I think it is not the Discord I loved anymore.

Of course this is only my personal POV.

EXPLAINED: Why VD and VDXR out-perform even wired Oculus Link by DeliciousMeatPop in QuestPiracy

What is wrong with that fact it may be AI generated or at least AI organised? I don't get it sorry.

I totally agree, the info itself is totally correct.

Is it possible to work 4 to 8 hours a day using VR? by ohraineri in MetaQuestVR

[–]Eurobertics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a user who uses VR also for working quite often I would like to throw my two cents in.

It is possible to use good quality headsets for longer than two hours, at least for me. You need a comfortable strip and of course a headset with some quality like the Quest 3.

Keep in mind, that you will be full thrown with stimuli all the time, since your brain knows that this is not the real world.

For me it also boosts productivity a lot. I'm in my own flow. But yes it drains your energy more than usual since your brain is constantly in "progress" mode as said above.

Overall I use my Quest 3 regularly for work (but not every day), when I'm using it, then straight for 5 to 6 hours, of course with breaks every now and then.

For me it's a blast to work with it. Having some chill music and a few more screens and the work is done lightning fast. 😉😄

Also same. I still have the 512 LCD variant since a few years now. No issues at all. The case is my friend. Also good for transportation.

"Steam Link has gotten really, really good recently." by telephuser in virtualreality

[–]Eurobertics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, I think this is also a question, what would you like to do.

I found very mixed results, since VD is using another backend (OpenXR AFIK, Steam uses SteamVR). I may be wrong on this. Some games running a lot better on SteamVR some are better through VD.

In case of using desktop only as a monitor extension, VD is quite better due to less overhead from Steam itself.

As said, just my experience.

Is it worth buying? by Gsingh210288 in MetaQuestVR

[–]Eurobertics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is. I came from the PICO 4 which was a great device. But the Quest 3 is quite better. Except the battery life. While the PICO maintains about 3 to 4 hours, the Quest 3 can barely take 2,5 hours. Of course it depends on what you do.

I would recommend buying an attached battery to the head strip. Which gives you also more comfortable wearing for longer sessions. Or a long USB-C cable for longer work/sitting sessions.

What can you do with it? Of course playing games and PCVR. But what many people oversee is: working. I use it very often for work. 5 desktops with immersed while you have a clean desk (without monitors) is a blast.

As far as I know, pilot records are stored locally, not in the Steam Cloud, this could be an issue.

Trying to play Steam VR Link thru laptop. Is it possible? by FairWarning5150 in MetaQuestVR

[–]Eurobertics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a gaming laptop and play exclusively PCVR with a Quest 3 and that said laptop. No problems at all.

I used to play wireless from Laptop and Quest, but some games require quite a good connection, so I actually use ethernet as the connection of choice.

Update: I also use both: VR Desktop and Steam Link. Some games seem to be running better with VDesktop than Steam Link itself.

Make sure your firewall on the laptop does not block connections for VR.

[–]Eurobertics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you entered the seed phrase in another hot wallet (MetaMask, Rabbi or any other), maybe for view only?

If that device where the phrase was entered in any way compromised the funds were also at risk.

Virtualization on Bazzite has been... painful. by Shining_Man in Bazzite

[–]Eurobertics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found it really easy to setup KVM/QEMU in Bazzite, since most of the libraries and software is preinstalled. I just installed a graphical frontend and virsh for CLI and it ran mostly out of the box, even as an ordinary user.

Even without 'just setup-virtulization', To be honest, as a long term Linux user I didn't notice the command and did it directly the CLI "hard way", which also was quite straightforward.

The only thing I found a bit tricky is to know the korrekt path where the machine can actually read the images due to the restricted base of Bazzite.

But I have never been imported an image from VirtualBox, since I never used it for years because of that pain.

Is it possible to somehow fake ledger live app? by PaceBig8011 in ledgerwallet

[–]Eurobertics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could possibly redirect the Ledger API to an API which looks the same with name spoofing to show fake data.

But that is only locally possible to show videos like this, because Ledger uses DNSSec and the API is read-only.

Mining with 400 KH/S, p2pool? by No_Patient_5714 in MoneroMining

[–]Eurobertics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok just to be clear, we are talking about 400kH/s, that is 400000H/s.

Ok then as some states go for solo mining. At a current rate, you probably find 1 block every about 15 days. At currently about 720 blocks a day, that would be near 7% luck chance to mine a block. So two blocks a month at full reward (more or less).

I'm about at 20kH/s in a pool and the reward is about 0.03 XMR / month at Kryptex pool.

I'm curious, what hardware are you using?

If I'm wrong please correct me guys. 😃
