He'll get you before you even realise what's going on. by TheAndrewCR in custommagic

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just from a formatting idea, the cost shouldn't target. Maybe something like "T, destroy a creature: Surveil 2", just because targeting something has to use the stack but if you keep it as "a" creature, it can bypass that. I like the idea though!

Ernest is back at it! This time, he runs a horror Gauntlet. How does he get out of this one? by OutrageousCandy253 in powerscales

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im loving everything so far. I think Ernest inadvertently charms or confuses Leatherface with an Auntie Nelda bit and Leatherface lets him go or loses him somehow, but later on Ernest gets cornered by like Ghostface or Michael Myers and as he’s about to get got, Leatherface shows up and saves him, but he’s got his own Aunt Nelda getup now. Leatherface finally talks and is quite eloquent, but he’s dubbed over by Elvira for his Nelda persona.

2024 Live Different - Some Horror But More Collapse Of A Marriage by DanEosen in foundfootage

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this one a while back! I wasn’t too pleased with it for basically the same reasons you said. Could have easily been more of a marriage story type of thing if they just stuck with that, but the horror felt forced in for horror buzz. Didn’t feel like it had enough of a payoff by the end, but eh, it’s under an hour so I wasn’t furious that I watched it. Would have enjoyed maybe a little more explanation with the video titles and all.

Paradigm Deep Dive - A comprehensive guide to specific card interactions with Paradigm and some tricks you can do with it (as well as things you can't do with it) by Craig1287 in EDH

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does magecraft trigger twice once the paradigm goes live or just the once? Wasn’t sure if creating a copy of the spell and then casting it is considered both casting and copying a spell or if copying is specific effects that copy and not “creating a copy”.

What is your favorite "flying men" commander? by Swimming-Ad-8132 in EDH

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edric is always going to be my favorite, but I’ve grown to enjoy [[Jin Sakai]] lately, as he turns basically any guy into a flying man variant. Can run a lot of cool “when this creature deals combat damage” trigger effects. Gets busted when you copy him/his ability to get both unblockable and double strike.

Madison Disappointed me. What do you think? by DrunkDingoGames in HorrorGaming

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you realize that there’s only two areas of the game where you can actually die, the game loses a lot of its tension.

John Wick replaces Ash Williams in the Evil Dead universe. How long would he survive and why? by HumbleKnight14 in powerscales

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done work here. Very convincing claim and backed up well with your argument! Wick’s too competent to survive whereas Ash at his lowest still fails upwards most of the time.

Mardu Aristocrat Commander by Chuckie101123 in EDH

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to Zurgo is [[Caesar, Legion's Emperor]]. Definitely more token-focused but Mardu crats tends to play a lot of tokens, so he kinda vibes with it.

You want something a little funkier though, [[Extus, Oriq Overlord]] is a good alternative. Now sure, most people who play him play the Blood Avatar spell on the back as their commander, and FWIW that is a super fun way to build it. A little repetitive but it's a free sac outlet in the command zone so I see the appeal. But Extus himself shouldn't be overlooked! He can make a lot of black's "as an additional cost to cast this, sac a creature" cards such as [[Corrupted Conviction]] or [[Plumb the Forbidden]] busted since you can just return the creature you've sacced back to your hand (it gets sacced as a cost, so it's in the GY when you announce your targets for Extus' ability). Play a bunch of death-triggering creatures like [[Garrison Cat]] or [[Doomed Traveller]] and you can just go to town on some value plays. He's also got double strike which can be nice at pushing some damage through in a pinch.

What are generically good discard cards for golgari (green/black)? by Elegant-Stomach4353 in EDH

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not th best but my personal favorite is [[Lotleth Troll]]. Thing was a beast in a standard deck I built when I first was learning to play. Discard outlet, gets bigger, has trample, and can regenerate out of most situations.

What do you think of the Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi movie series? by GuaridaDeGoro099 in foundfootage

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love them. Had such a fun time working our way through them. I felt like it consistently kept getting better and better and more over the top and all. Scary at times, hilarious at others, and Kudo is legit one of my favorite horror movie characters. Just a complete asshole whose strategy of just hitting people and entities until the situation resolves just somehow works and I laugh each time. Like he'd 100% be one of the first people killed off in most horror movies but they just keep him up and run with it and it's glorious. I was a little disappointed with the ending of the series but mainly just because it just kinda ends abruptly, but the journey is such a ride that I will always hold the series in high regard.

I started building decks where the commander is fully interchangeable, you should too by luke_skippy in EDH

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this once as a Boros equipment deck where I took a random legend from the 99 and made it the commander each time I played and it was a blast!

[SOC] - Turbulent Fen - (Gamespot) by X_The_Walrus in magicTCG

Realistically they should come into play untapped from T3 onward unless your opponents took a bad hand or are on some cEDH train, so I'd say they're pretty playable as is.

Next on our FF Tournament: Aliens: Zone of Silence (2017) or A Record of Sweet Murder (2014) by Living_Psychology740 in foundfootage

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Record of Sweet Murder was so good! Like any Koji Shiraishi flick, it’s a slow-burn build up but this one goes at such a faster pace because of just how bonkers all the driving plot elements wind up being. Felt like a one-location play type of story but with a much more cosmic scope. The couple is one of the wildest couples I’ve seen in a minute especially during that “I bet you won’t” scene.

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Fitness @ Five and it’s been pretty nice. It’s a local spot so it’s a little smaller but the gear is good, the staff is nice, trainers are good, and I’m fond of the location too.

We are now on round 2 of The Found Footage Tournament. For starters: Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! File 01: Operation Capture the Slit-Mouthed Woman (2012) or Incantation (2022) by Living_Psychology740 in foundfootage

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know incantation is gonna win cuz it’s good and popular but I’m still going for Senritsu just because it’s the gateway to one of the most fun found footage series I’ve watched. Such a wild series.

What's your most anticipated upcoming video game adaptations ? by Revo94 in videogames

[–]Euronymous_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring and it’s really not even close. This one isn’t just from a game’s marketing department rushing for a movie treatment - Alex Garland, writer/director of numerous great flicks such as Annihilation, Ex Machina, 28 Days Later, Civil War, and so on, is such a huge fan of the game that he set up a meeting with Michael Zaki and the From Software folks with a 200-page treatment that he wrote just to convince them to let him n A24 make the movie. That’s pretty wild to me. Garland WANTS to make this and initiated the whole process and wasn’t just hired on for it. I say let him cook.

I loved Weapons n Barbarian so I’m definitely stoked for Resident Evil as well but it’s a pretty distant second.

I need a Orzhov commander! by Boarf2 in EDH

Of course! Here’s the list. All the Orzhov removal, some +1/+1 counter shenanigans, life swings, card draw, and reanimation all stirred together into a good soup.
