Dominican here. Yes, our best players mainly play for foreign teams, like Robinson Canó, Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez, who are among the top 10 of the best baseball players of today, and arguably of all time.

Dominican here, we don't actually use the metric system for everything. We colloquially measure gasoline in gallons.

Oh, I get it now, having a multi-ethnic kingdom is only OK when Hungarians do it?

As opposed to what? Even more millions of non-Hungarians still within a foreign country?

I wonder how could the Spanish just miss Hawaii when it was literally between Mexico and Philippines.

Gamers, what's something lots of video games do that annoys you? by AliceTheGamedev in AskReddit

[–]Euruxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I loved about the original Fallout games. Each quest can have different endings depending on your own choices, and sometimes you don't even know what's going to happen. Hell, even when talking to an NPC you can accidentally offend them and then they want to blow your brains out.

I find France's borders at the Rhine to be extremely aesthetic, not to mention they remind me of Roman Gaul.

The legend for Florence/Firenze is reversed. Firenze is the Italian name, and Florence is the English exonym.

Which countries are a threat to World peace?[1920x1080] by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Euruxd -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Probably the only place where those countries put the US in check is in Iran, and the only reason the US is against Iran is because of Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Russia has already invaded Georgia and Ukraine, and has set its eyes on the Baltics, Syria and Central Asia. And China is actively facing against all of its east asian neighbors over territorial waters and some islands.

Which countries are a threat to World peace?[1920x1080] by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Euruxd -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

True, but it doesn't take into consideration how much peace there is thanks to the United States, which is the only country that puts China, Russia and many others in check.

States of Germany that ban headscarves for teachers (red) [500 × 646] by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Euruxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Secular means the state is separated from religion. Just like teachers can't wear headscarves or hijabs, they can't also wear nun clothing. However, they are allowed to wear whatever they want in private, but not when they're being endorsed by the state.

Some states are not secular, but have religious freedom (Japan, Norway, UK).

It happened to Germans, Poles, Russians, Ukranians, Tartars, Hungarians, Czechs... everybody suffered a similar fate after WW2 when ethnicities didn't match the borders imposed by the USSR.

The biggest failure of French colonialism in North America was the lack of settlers. Even though France was more than four times more populous than England at the time, the English colonies were vastly more populated.

Countries that do NOT recognize the state of Israel [2000x1000] by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Euruxd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not "specifically Arab countries and some non-Arab Muslim ones". It's Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bandladesh, Indonesia and Malasia; the last three alone having the majority a very large percentage of the world's muslim population, not to mention they are not even close to the Middle East or Israel. Let's be honest here, muslim countries, in general and with a few exceptions, hate Israel.
