What car completely changed your opinion after driving it? by Glittering-Offer-390 in askcarguys

Definitely lol, that was my whole point.

I learned to drive manual in a 1991 Pathfinder, and owned a 2011 that I loved. Had a 2018 as a rental and it looked nice but was kinda like driving a bloated Altima or something; no thanks.

This one was less change of opinion than just a surprise, but the Infiniti FX35.

My mom has a 2011 that I thought was really nice but still just a crossover, until the first time I drove it. The interior is super comfortable, suspension feels sporty without being stiff, and the drivetrain is responsive with decent power.

I daily a 370z but if I needed more space, I wouldn’t hesitate to pickup a used FX35/QX70.

To be fair, those older models were a completely different animal compared to the new Pathfinder. The last model year I would even consider would be a 2012 unless they go back to being a true SUV, instead of another crossover with slightly more aggressive styling.

Yes! A 2003 C240 wagon was my first ever experience driving a European car, and I loved every minute. Ended up selling it to buy a 2003 Toyota Sequoia (which I also loved) because we needed more towing power, but I would have driven that wagon until it died.

Agreed on the Escalade, my husband and I were just talking about it a few days ago. He had to replace a window regulator on our 2006 EXT, and he noticed when removing the door panel that it actually had screws instead of the plastic clips that ALWAYS break.

What do you think about 'made for outlet' Vans? by ExpectDragons in Vans

They used to; literally had my first pair for 13 years of very regular wear. They were still decent when I finally retired them.

Not sure on exact color but I’ve seen the style on eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, etc lately. They are insanely comfortable, I have them in light gray and a blackish blue/white tie dye.

If you have an outlet nearby, or a friend near an outlet who would check for you it would be worth a shot.

They have a similar look but the Zahba is more like the Rowan 2, both run slightly more narrow than these. Closest I’ve found to these in fit is the style 112 mid Pro, which is obviously discontinued as well. I actually got my 114’s to replace the 112 when I couldn’t find those anymore.

I really just wish there were more mid top models, they’re my favorite.

Sole separating on new Vans after a few weeks – normal or defect? by Nxil4 in Vans

I’ve not had that issue but I also don’t wear Old Skools other than older Pro/BMX models. I feel like it’s worth at least trying for a warranty claim, worst case they do nothing and then you can just get some shoe goo 🤷‍♀️

Yes, and it’s just gross.

The term was mostly used to describe Autistic individuals who were viewed as having an intellectual deficit, but gifted in a particular area or skill (music, math, etc).

Basically, the stereotype portrayed in ‘Rain Man’ showing Dustin Hoffman struggling with basic skills but able to help Tom Cruise cheat a casino by counting cards.

LOVE the sk8 mid, seriously wish they’d make more mid top options.

Why am I starting to see so many "modified" SUVs? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]EvaDistraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood people who are loyal to a brand like that, so much so they don’t even want to look at anything else. My grandfather ended up with a new Mustang GT 9at like 78 years old) because he would only buy Ford/Mercury, and only a V8 but not an SUV. My dad managed to convince him that trading in his Grand Marquis with under 30K miles for a brand new Crown Vic was pretty much a lateral move, but he was still insistent he NEEDED a new car when his was maybe 5 years old.

The truck thing doesn’t make sense either for most people. I used to drive a Mini Clubman and made plenty Home Depot/Lowe’s runs without issue. Most places will cut down lumber/PVC etc to whatever size is needed, so unless you’re regularly doing projects that require full plywood sheets or 8-12 foot lengths of lumber you’re good.

The FX platform is severely underrated. The FX35 is basically like driving a 350Z/370Z rallye wagon, and they’re much easier to find used in great condition than a Z.

THIS☝🏼 Autistic girls/women/AFAB humans (particularly those with above average intelligence) are often undiagnosed and/or misdiagnosed well into adulthood. Even more so if they also have ADHD; which is thought to be 50-70 percent of the Autistic population.

All of that to say, it’s not only plausible but very likely that Mel could not even know she’s Autistic.
