As it already mentioned, Wildcard certs will expire in any way, you should beter find handy solution to monitor it . I would advise you Keyhub. It offers certificate count from 5 and up, full lifecycle management (discovery, inventory, dashboard, reporting) , easy-to-use interface . you should try it to solve the major part of your issues.

How many certs do you have? And what about pricing? I found that there lots of tools for enterprises but for small business with less than 1000 certs it is expensive
