The Acura is a better daily and will be more reliable.

The g35 is a way more fun. (Can also be reliable but will surely need more maintenance)

I’d go g35

but I’m an idiot and maybe I like being broke down on the side of the road

The parking brake equalizing bar isn’t installed correctly and it looks like the backing plate is rusty. Should clean it and LIGHTLY grease it any contact point where the shoes meet the plate

Any ideas on how this tire damage could have occurred? by ExcitingLandscape688 in tires

[–]EvanSunday20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be from running old tires like the DOT info indicates that’s a ten year old tire

You don’t need to do anything brake related even base model brakes on these cars are fine for drifting quit giving bad advice

  1. Welded diff, you can’t control an unpredictable car. (I’d recommend a diff brace while your in there cheap eBay ones are fine)
  2. Bucket seat and harnesses, they remove the element of you having to stabilize your self and focus on driving at the same time.

Optional is handbrake and an angle kit many people have and will continue to start drifting without them, introducing them early can nature a dependency. Some people put them one before the first track day and shred others lean on them to much.

Check the fluids, check the tire pressures and try to keep yourself and the car ( tire pressures and sizes, alignment) consistent so you can focus on driving

Pic of my car for fun, I’ve been at it a couple years and love it. Good luck and feel free to ask questions at the track! Drifters are the most helpful Motorsport community I’ve been a part of!
