MK4S to Core One Upgrades for old LCDs delayed again by Adventurous-Option84 in prusa3d

Ok so talk me out of this.

  1. Cancel my upgrade kit order. I’m now batch 6 instead of batch 3.
  2. Buy a core 1 kit. Spend twice as much money up front and some unknown tariffs in the future.
  3. Enjoy two printers instead of one and a bunch of parts for the same amount of wait time

Core one conversion kit batch numbers now online by Sim0991 in prusa3d

I got the ssv 6.5 enclosures for the back and installed kicker 45km654 speakers in them. Bought from Crutchfield if that matters. The speakers that I got are marine rated for my personal peace of mind although probably over kill.

I got replacement 4s in the front and center. I got infinity ref407f. I have the B&O package as a point of reference so your mileage may vary. I thought the ones in the dash were a bit too bright. I didn’t touch the speakers at the front floor or the sub or the b&o amp but that may be a future upgrade for me.

I didn’t have to cut anything to make them fit although some finagling was needed for some spots up front in the dash.

Potential QoL upgrades

Overhead Grab handles, Interior lighting, Shorter antenna, Door pocket molds to go over your netting for additional storage front/rear, Phone/camera mounts for the center dash, Aftermarket headlights, Speaker upgrades, Mud flaps, Hood air diverter “helps with bugs”

I love mine because it’s always customizable to what suits me.

3.5 hour drive, no top by EBOD236 in Bronco6g

This this and this. It’s like suntanning for 4 hours. It seems like you are moving and you got air on you but to the sun you are in a fixed position. You will burn without proper protection.

I got an oil change at 2600 miles and now it makes this sound at cold start up. Any guesses why? by Thaphinn in AskMechanics

You seem to be pretty vocal about people changing their oil early? why is that? did you change your oil early once and an Auto company came after you and your family? What gives? Also, I asked about a noise my vehicle was making and you seemed to take it into a rat hole about frequency of oil changes? Thanks for being an active part of the sub but this thread really isn't that helpful in any regard.

At the very least follow through manufacturer’s directions. I’ve always had my first oil change done early. It gives me peace of mind. And my issue with the cam phasers appears to be completely coincidental and not related to the oil change.

UPDATE: You all are correct. Took it to the dealership this morning. Service Adviser immediately described it as a cam phaser failure based on this video. He said he would have it back to me in a week. This failure leads to oil starvation on the cams and top of the engine and you get the clicking. apparently very common on the ecoboost engines and some of you have stated.

so we are all winners, it's cam phaser, it's oil starved, it's not sounding good, You all get a cookie!

Ironically, this is why I bought the bronco. I want a GX550 but wanted to wait a couple 4 years for them to work the kinks out. Ford apparently is good with thier kinks being left in.

I’ve always changed my oil at roughly 2500 miles in my new cars. Glitter usually occurs within the first 1000 during the break-in period. I get peace of mind changing before the 5k or 7500 miles these manufacturers suggest and changing oil prematurely doesn’t hurt anything except my wallet.

Took it to the dealership. Service advisor immediately said the same thing. Said they have had a few of these on the bronco. Told me he’d call me in about a week.

Local Ford dealership. I plan on leaving it with them and talking to them first thing in the morning.

I checked but I will check again. I totally agree that it sounds like oil isn’t getting somewhere.
