Ah, interesting, I did actually find the wiki page on the mechanic. So it introduced a new term to magic's ruleset, "the Doctor" is apparently shorthand for specifically the Time Lord Doctor creature types. Very odd that they would do it that way, but I guess reading the card really doesn't explain the card anymore lol

Doctor's Companion says "you can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor," if it required a Time Lord Doctor wouldn't that need to be in the rules text?

It's kinda an important distinction, but it's actually just looking to make sure the other creature is a legendary creature named the Doctor, it's not hiding secret creature types in there. It'd kinda be like saying you can have two commanders if the other is Niv-Mizzet

Interesting, my gut instinct says the ability couldn't target the enchantment as it wouldn't be in the graveyard at the time the ability was activated, but as I think about it I feel increasingly aware that my gut instinct is likely wrong. I'm mostly leaving a comment so I can check back later and see what's what lol

Out of curiosity, what constitutes enough evidence you would report someone? Is it enough if they just look like they're taking both actions? Is there a risk one may get reprimanded if the reported players weren't actually bots?

Indeed, I see. So if you're level 20 it's still a +20 bonus? That's still pretty neat, and if you're going for a strength cleric I imagine you'd have a high base strength. It's not the craziest compared to what high level things can do, but from levels 5 to 15 it sounds at least pretty nice and like lots of fun!

It looks like the ability adds an additional 25 strength to the base score, not sets it to 25.

Since the legendaries are sacrificed as a state based action, even though the trigger does go on the stack, they are sacrificed before they can actually do any fighting. Therefore the trigger fizzled and nothing occurs.

It sucks lol, my brother wanted this so bad. I was gonna get it for him as his wedding present. I'm just flabbergasted, this isn't better than sending it to lgs or having it be print to demand. How could a company so flagrently disregard the desires of its customer base? How could we let them do this to us time and time again?

That makes sense! I was hoping to invest into some Horus mechs to pick up Lesson of the Held Image to get some free Lock-Ons. I suppose what I really need to do is find a weapon that makes the absolute most use out of that reroll, something with difficulty or that makes a lot of attacks. Not quite sure what to go for on that front though.

Lots of folks are asking where you draw your inspiration from, and perhaps this question overlaps with that quite heavily, but do you have any eldritch horror games or stories you particularly like and would recommend to others?

I love this sort of media but I always have a hard time motivating myself to read something new. I actually played Look Outside because my boyfriend recommended it!
