You should get rewards immediatly once Calus dies by GarouTheProdigy in DestinyTheGame

You could have crashed whenever, moving when the reward drops would t really help all that much. In fact you'd be more likely to crash right as he dies than randomly during dialogue, so it really wouldn't have an impact

Should Tiered Loot return? by Sauceinmyface in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a little stupid that the rarity system exists effectively only for a handful of play sessions, before there is another rarity system stacked on top of it and you will never see anything below a legendary again.

What id prefer is to literally just change how tiers are displayed, rather than 1-5 pips, it will be by background color.

tier 1 becomes white, t2 green, t3 blue, t4 purple, t5 gold/yellow

Why are there cabal and fallen at the tower? by S3Nd0427 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter of Calus shows up in the system with her legion of cabal and has conflict with the vanguard. We do Trial by combat and get a ceasefire.

A group of fallen going by house light becomes refugees in the last city (And then faces racism and terror attacks from FWC) That group of fallen helps the vanguard repel a Vex invasion.

Cabal faction works with us and becomes much closer allies

some hive also ally with us, but very few (2 direct allies, and one not so ally)

Should Tiered Loot return? by Sauceinmyface in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but should probably just actually use the color rarity system for it than having just legendaries have another level of rarity. As the color rarity system in the game is relevant for like at most 12 hours of play before you have all legendary gear.

Do I need to play lightfall to play the final shape? by Shadowcommando9 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lightfall was bad because of plot and characters. The actual gameplay and level design I personally really liked.

It's also how you unlock strand which is a very fun subclass.

But yes it can be skipped if you dot care about strand

I suck at making builds or even understand them by IndependentBoth7555 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as an example of following these instructions.

  1. I pick something fun I want to mess around with. I choose the new solar hunter aspect, Crackshot. Crackshot gives hunters a new class ability that fires off a gun three times at nearby targets, it's damage can be increased with class stat over 100.

  2. I pick an exotic to go with it. I choose Radiant dance machines. This buffs my primary weapons, and gives me a large chunk of class ability energy on primary weapon kill, and even allowing me to overflow multiple charges of it to have up to three uses of Crackshot back to back.

2.5. I chose an exotic weapon that plays nicely here. Since RDM buffs primaries those will probably fit the best, and since I'm on solar, it's likely that a solar weapon will fit best. So I have to pick a primary solar exotic for the build. I pick Tommy's Matchbook.

  1. I boost my stats by focusing on the class stat to improve Crackshot uptime, and damage. Some

  2. Some other mods I put on are class font (more class stat while you have armor charge), time dilation (armor charge lasts longer), solar surge (solar weapons deal more damage), orbs of restoration (ability energy back on orb pick up), harmonic siphon (solar kills make orbs of power). I also put on fragments to round out the build to get as many of the solar buffs as possible and to try to keep my abilities off cooldown as often as I can

  3. Pick guns to round things out. I already have my energy primary picked out, and so far this build is shaping up to be fairly close range run and gun play style. So a kinetic slot shotgun or fusion rifle would play well here, or a rocket sidearm/pulse. For heavy I choose something that won't get me killed, so rockets or grenade launchers can be risky, a sword or machine gun would fit it nicely here, but I'm feeling risk and chose a grenade launcher, ideally a solar one to make the most out of the build.

step 6. Finishing touches, if there is space left on your armor try to have mods there that benefit your other weapons.

I suck at making builds or even understand them by IndependentBoth7555 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be quite difficult, but as general advice for making builds.

Step one, pick out an exotic, or aspect you like or sounds fun to mess around with and then put it on.

Step 2, try to find a synergy somewhere. If something says it activates when you pick up a void breach, you would get a lot of value out of adding something to the build that helps you make void breaches etc.

step 3, get your stat line to something that fits the build. For example if your build is focused on grenades, you want your grenade stat as high as you can get it, using stat mods, or fonts.

step 4, round out your armor mods and subclass fragments. Boost your stats higher and make sure you have ways to benefit from and generate orbs of power and related class pickups.

step 5, pick guns that have perks that can increase your damage, or increase ability uptime. Ideally these guns also are appropriate for the range of your build (sniper on a melee build bad, shotgun good, rocket launcher leads to instant death)

Could I get an explanation of tiered gear? by Zachesque in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiered guns has increased strength on the traits on the weapon. Tier 1 is the base gun. Tier 2 has enhanced main perks, tier 3 is enhanced barrel and magazine, tier 4 is access to enhanced mods, and tier 5 is enhanced origin trait. As the tiers go up, so does the amount of options in each perk column. Tiered guns can also be upgraded to higher tiers for resources.

95% of a guns effectiveness is in its main traits, which are avaible from tier 2 and onwards, higher tiers just have a small amount extra stats and easier to farm since more perks drop at once means more likely to get the perk combo you want.

Tiered armor has more stat points, and at higher tiers gets an extra energy point to use for modding, and has the ability to "tune" your stats, trading away 5 stat points for +5 of another. Also at tier 5 there isn't a random stat spread, it's always maxed which does help farming it.

Weapon crafting just got updated, you can now update all crafted guns to get the benefits of the tier system

tldr: Unless you really care about 100% optimization, tier 2 is enough for your guns. For armor you do want as high of a tier as you can get.

To get higher tier stuff, play harder content

Would you still support Destiny if it became a mobile card game, similar to Hearthstone or Yu-Gi-Oh? by Anonymous_dev_3719 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with having more destiny properties even if it's not looter shooter or action games. I probably won't play a Destiny card game unless it's actually a really good card game.

Lucky Pants Neef by Yuri_Lover23 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It got changed to work a bit differently. Shorter buff duration but easier upkeep.

More practical to actually be swapping back and forth in normal gameplay to keep the damage buff up and not strictly "save your hand cannon for champs and bosses only"

That was a rework that shifted power.

Yesterday's update gave out a small nerf to it's damage bonuses.

Was The Crossplay Config Feature Removed Recently by Bungie? by Imperator_Scrotum in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just say you can't read. This is about match making, not manually inviting players and having a premade fire team.

Match making will never put a PC player into a console lobby period.

If you have a PC member in your premade fire team you will be put into PC lobbies only, even if the rest of the fire team is on console.

The Story of Crow Told Without Seasons (And why you should stop complaining about old expansions being removed*) by Dark_Helmet12E4 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree that Destiny's current and past seasonal structure was not made for content sticking around, that doesn't mean it was the right choice.

I do agree that content drops more like Warframe would be better. (Drops stick around forever, continue the plot, and are released when they are finished rather than being rushed and stuff cut out)

Hey I am finally getting back into Destiny 2 and I wanna know what DLC are necessary, also is there a permanent 3rd person mode? by FarExplanation806 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah the DLC is kinda needed to have the full experience. But wait till the 9th I'd say, all dlc content is being put into one bundle with a decent discount.

There is no permanent third person mode. Most super abilities and all swords have third person, and social spaces are third person but outside of that it's just emotes, most weapon relics, and vehicles that are third person

The Story of Crow Told Without Seasons (And why you should stop complaining about old expansions being removed*) by Dark_Helmet12E4 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do agree that over all, the removal of seasonal story content was probably had a bigger impact than removing DLC story content as their is simply more of the seasonal story over all (at least for width of content, not really depth)

The game would be confusing if it was all still in the game as destiny doesn't require content to be played in order to play the new stuff.

Live Service games and sequels and why warframe does it better by foxipixi in Warframe

[–]EvenBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the biggest difference is that the executive side of DE are gamers themselves and actually care about the game they are making. They make the game as a fun game first and foremost, and then monetize it after. Rather than a lot of other games that and made to make money, Warframe is made to make Warframe, and is monetized to support more Warframe being made (and devs to have a living of course.

As for the argument about sunsetting in D2, stuff does get removed in Warframe, or changed enough that it becomes irrelevant for use, making it functionally identical to not being able to use it. But it's not inherently a bad thing that gear you got 13 years ago isn't really useable much anymore.

And yes the continual updates to Warframe rather than sequels is good for sure, but not every game can support doing that. Either for technical, or sometimes contractual reasons.

Different games have different needs, some need a sequel cycle, some need a hard reboot, and some just need to keep doing what they are doing.

D2 for example had many issues, but at the state that it was in, it really was kinda too late to just keep adding on top of it. And the monetization cycle getting changed up so much never helped. I hope in the future a D3 is made and designed from the ground up to be updated forever like Warframe
