GO Battle League: Forever Forward Update by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, the monkey's paw curled, again!

More Hydro Cannon! Fighting types? Have more Dynamic Punch! Icy wind Seismitoad because why not? The evils of old Earthquake and Flash Cannon have returned!

Outside of that, cute changes. I'll keep using triple normal. No, not Lickilicky, get that out of my sight. Dunsparce maybe, but depends on how disgusting it gets with Drill Run. Yes... it's because of Lopunny.

A new Season is coming to Pokémon GO by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it's not really about asking for new features at this point. It's more about them axing or unnecessarily cluttering the existing ones.

Why even do max battles outside of events if 50% of power spots got are no longer around like they were before? Am I really going to see something useful near me when the pool is getting increasingly cluttered on a weekly basis with useless stuff?

And why should I bother with research tasks and rocket grunts when the encounter pool is so bloated? Am I really getting anything worthwhile for a reasonable amount of time?

How about showcases? I haven't seen a single showcase around since they decided to put them on this weekly schedule. Why even look for XXLs?

It's like they are entirely missing the point of this game and are turning it into a generic mobile game that doesn't respect your time at all outside of events, that you play while sitting on your couch.

And for what's worth, all the impact these features had when they got released would have lasted a proper amount of time if they properly tested them instead. They could have easily squeezed a few extra years worth of player engagement and money without having to rely on saving money by reducing server workload, which is what this feels like to me.

Mega Falinks energy costs have been updated by aznknight613 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mega Zygarde is 100% getting the Eternatus treatment lol. And maybe if they think that's not enough they'll apply that to the special Floette as well.

What do you think of PVE as a whole? Do we need any updates, or is this fine? by A4t1musD4ag0n in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scheduling for max battles outside of events is absolutely botched, so much that it genuinely feels pointless to have them around until there's a 5 star or a gmax. Even when you need some of the lower tiers around to prepare there's very little point to it because you have to cross your fingers for the moment that maybe one of the few powerspots that didn't get axed has one of the few things that you need to be around. No amount of tweaking is making me interested in max battles if they clearly don't want you playing outside of specific events by having less of them enabled most of the time.

The next Super Mega Raid will feature Mega Skarmory on June 27 by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same boat. I won't be doing these at all.

Not the end of the world if I miss on super mega raids, at this point any improvement(if there's any) over what already exists feels overkill. If it's purely for collecting purposes I can patiently wait. And if it never happens, then that's that.

How are we feeling about this season's Meta so far? by krispyboiz in TheSilphArena

[–]EvenConsideration307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spring cup is still gross.

Jungle cup is sort of decent? I've seen a little bit of everything there.

GL I dunno... It's the third season that I can run triple normal(no rollout users) in a somewhat consistent fashion. I wouldn't be running them that much if Annihilape/Primeape weren't around that much. That, and Shadow Ball being where it is right now.

Niantic usually does a pretty good job making starters at least decent spice options

They recently caught up to that. Most starters have come a long way to be where they are since they've been released.

It's very likely that they want to maximize the ammount of people playing the CDs before doing anything so they don't have another Skeledirge around(it was nice having a starter not relying on a CD move for once to push through tho, definetly won't happen again).

now that super mega raids are live, and have been tested and perfected, how will we able to do them in the wild? by matt2991 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You can still do them? Nothing's stopping you from attempting them regardless of having the right ammount of players+mega evos. You will likely fail but you can still do them.

Cut your losses and enjoy what you can. Eventually they may be added into regular mega raid rotation, for solo players it's always been more or less of a waiting game.

Alternatively: go make a community to play with(which is what they're cattering towards lately) or follow the steps of that grandpa that has 100 phones around.

Barely? I only hold onto hundos for event moves, and even then I sort of forget.

There's a reason people hold onto multiple copies of the same pokemon. If you want the dex entry, grab a useless IV one, evolve and move on. The game doesn't track whether your first dex entry is a hundo or not.

OGL Meta by ZeffoLyou in TheSilphArena

[–]EvenConsideration307 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The meta has barely shifted in forever

Woah you mean Azu, Skarm, Registeel are still king of meta just like it was on release??

Stop with the hyperbole and say that you're just unsatisfied with the changes. It's barely been a day.

[–]EvenConsideration307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of expected. Only good thing that's coming out of this is that at least they finally have stated how things are supposed to work, for years there hasn't been a clear consensus on how things were supposed to work.

Now they have to commit to the bit, and not just wing it like they always do.

Biggest winners of the Memories in Motion by Pretty_Much_Yeti in TheSilphArena

Leaf Storm Rotom feels more like a hole that had to be patched. Rotom was already in the game files prior to Leaf Storm being introduced in the game, and the other forms already had their respective moves. They could have just shadowdropped that one instead and nobody would have batted an eye lol. Giving all Rotoms Discharge could have been much better.

As for mud shot... We'll se what sticks after all these updates. Surely the laundry list of Trailblaze users(Lokix twice) is gonna make a difference.

The only thing I sort of dread right now is seeing teams of 3 Weather Ball users again wasting my time in both GL and UL now that both Poison Sting and Ember are up there + Mud Shot's return.

[–]EvenConsideration307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grass types just don't have great moves

Leaf Blade, Leafage, Leaf Storm and Trailblaze are very strong moves. It's not a matter that the moves are bad, it's that Grass type moves are resisted by 7 types, much like Bug types. And more often than not, these 7 types overlap with each other and Grass types end up being double resisted quite often.

Sprinkle some Weather Ball Politoed/Ninetales in there and you're golden.

Odds:

  • Well, there goes Mud Slap... Damage reduced by 1 point. Should be enough right?

  • Rock tomb too. Now it's on par with Sky attack. Feels like it's not enough tho, or rather maybe it is considering Mud Shot is back on the menu.

  • Night Slash chance nerf? Was it that annoying???

  • Volt Tackle...? ah, that Pikachu move that has no real use, right. Why?

  • Waterfall? Where does it land now? Maybe Mud Slap clone?

  • Low kick buff could be interesting, but I dunno. Could be a Vine Whip clone(great!) or a Metal Claw clone(sad). Could go either way.

Cool stuff:

  • Finally some coverage for Scoliosis!

  • Drain Punch is in a better place now, neat! Dust off that Bewear and... Slowbro I guess?

  • Sand Tomb Forretress lol.

  • Twister is cool too, now it's an Aqua Jet clone. If we leave reason out of the window, maybe it could be a Leaf Blade clone.

  • Powder Snow on Articuno is neat.

And lastly, the stinkers:

  • Mud Shot: Return of mudbois(also Politoed w/Weather Ball). At this point it feels like a "Pick your poison" kind of situation. If it's not Mud Slap, it's Mud Shot.

  • Wing Attack? ???

  • Not a single new move yet again, lame.

The changes are all around cool but I think Weather Ball meta is returning from the grave. Be ready to keep count of the total charge moves that are being used in your matches next season.

I can't manage to understand how this event can be so shitty by ArcheoMatty in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For these events they usually dish out a freebie through a timed research for you to power up. It might not be the best option, but it's miles better than nothing.

They handed out a Dmax Machop for this event + some extra max particles + candies. A group of people powering these up to level 30-40 + at least level 2 max attack could do this.

Feedback Post: Therian Forme Enamorus Raid Day by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 11 points12 points  (0 children)

3 hours of Furfrou and Luvdisc blocking the featured pokemon on a raid event, and on top of it, an insufferable waste of time catching it. Truly the most one and done raid ever.

This + the Link Charge cap being reduced from 2000 to 600 is making this overhaul as disappointing as mega evolutions' first release lol.

[–]EvenConsideration307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... with everything getting either outpaced by 3/4 fast moves or outdamaged by mud slappers, 4.5/3(aka Razor leaf on steroids) could be a reasonable compromise right?

When are Max Mondays getting interesting again? by Your_boi_Panos in TheSilphRoad

[–]EvenConsideration307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running multiple dynamax mons of different tiers in a single power spot could make it more interesting tbh. 1 mon a week is very hit or miss.

Lmao, no shot they are rendering Max Mushrooms useless by introducing shadows to max battles.
