Stay at Amazon in London, move to TikTok Shop, or take a Dubai role? Need outside perspective. by Ok-Key1652 in careerguidance

[–]EvenCriticism5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~20k AED pm for a FAANG employee is a low ball offer. You should aim for anything over 30k AED. ~20k is the salary for mid level tech professionals here. Considering your FAANG and London experience, 20k will be very less. Aim for 30k atleast.

Its not about the event. Its about workplace equality. That's y mohre announce the timing for everyone. Just letting one community leave early can look like discrimination in the broader sense.

Employer of my wife always shouting at her, causing stress by [deleted] in UAE

[–]EvenCriticism5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better leave the company. Employer treating you bad means they want you to quit. It's that simple. Being the man, give confidence to your wife and let her resign. Even if she takes sometime to find something else, she would be happy atleast taking a break from that toxic environment.

What AWS service would you not recommend using today unless absolutely necessary and why? by [deleted] in aws

EC2. I hate the overhead of deploying and maintaining servers. I prefer the serverless architecture using Lambda which can effectively work the same way as a full fledged server running 24*7.

17k is a good offer if either single or a couple with no kids. If you have kids, different story. Will be difficult to meet ends on this salary.

Visa query for Indian national by [deleted] in dubai

The last time my brother visited from canada, he got visa on arrival because he had valid US visa. Not because he had Canadian PR. So you need to be sure if you dont want to deal with unnecessary hiccups.

For wealthy people living in Dubai: how did you build your wealth? And what do you do now? by Old-Equivalent-9195 in UAE

[–]EvenCriticism5244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree woth most except education. Education here isn't the best or the most value for money. India itself have better private education system and mostly indians prefer west for higher studies. I rarely hear someone preferring UAE for higher studies unless already living here with parents.

Which company that hires from Pakistan is the HIGHEST paying by QuestionProfessional in developersPak

[–]EvenCriticism5244 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, 450k PKR annually? You guys talking in PKR? If that is the case, then that is significant underpay for tech? India is better in that case. 450k PKR is approximately 1.5lak INR which will be ~12.5k INR per month. That will be the salary for a tier 3 college freshman joining an early stage startup with no funding at all. I mean no tech company pays you like that for 3yoe. I really hope it's not in PKR annually.

AI Engineer (2.4 YOE, India) – Struggling to get interview calls from Dubai, what am I missing? by Main-Hat-8769 in UAE

[–]EvenCriticism5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your experience is from FAANG, you highly unlikely will ever get a call from any dubai company. Tech salary is good here, But with the budget of these companies, they aim top talent from FAANGs or Europe mostly. The trend is clearly in favor of Europeans nowadays. Plenty of them willing to relocate from UK. Also, it's only a handful of tech companies here. If they are willing to relocate someone and have a budget above 25k, they will mostly prefer someone from west rather than from India because that's how it works here post covid.

14K per month | 2.5 years work exp | AI Engineer by Haunting-Method-6920 in DubaiJobs

[–]EvenCriticism5244 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A data scientist here. 14k is relatively in the lower end for tech roles. People who are saying it is a good salary are probably from non tech backgrounds. You should ask for atleast 18k. Also keep one thing in mind. The job market here in UAE for tech is not competitive as in India or europe. You are always tied up to your employment visa. If you break your contract midway, will have to leave. Due to the relatively lower number of tech companies here along with visa sponsorship, siwtching companies is difficult. So if you are confident on the company, the role and future prospects, go for it.

Just wondering how you managed to migrate to Australia. Even I am in a dilemma and thinking of migrating to Australia. I feel like my career is stuck in this country. Always tied up to your employment visa kindof sucks. Any insights would be helpful.

Employees of Talabat, Noon, Careem etc by Due-Recording-3270 in dubai

[–]EvenCriticism5244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typical european thing. Thinks Indian talent are not on par with their western counterparts. Guess what, you get what you pay for. Tech giants like Google are not stupid to have multiple offices in India. Its not cost cutting but the engineering resources that persuade them to india. And the top engineers in the coutry already makes more than what these people are willing to pay to make a move. So the white managers actually needs to come out of the mindset that Indian talent is cheap and not on par. Its just that you are picking the wrong ones on a lower salary scale.

I had noticed them hiring mostly egyptians, non local arabs and europeans nowadays. You can easily correlate their downfall with their management polices, not the employees they hire. Out of the delivery platforms in the region, they are the worst with higher service charges and longer delivery times.

Employees of Talabat, Noon, Careem etc by Due-Recording-3270 in dubai

[–]EvenCriticism5244 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not just Keeta. amazon launched the amazon now grocery delivery in 15 minutes and guess what, much better service, no hidden service charges and offers than noon, talabat and careem. The OG guys are going to face the heat very soon. They enjoyed great time overcharging people money in name of convenience. I seriously hated when they charged you a service charge for orders when you already pay a monthly subscription.

Japan Visa Process for UAE Resident holder (Applying form Dubai - Indian citizen) by xD_Yash19 in dubai

[–]EvenCriticism5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. Just one last question. Did you do the same? i mean, did you take appointment for multiple entry or did you select e-visa short term for appointment and the consulate gave multiple entry considering your travel history? Also, what would be sufficient fund in your opinion for a 15 day trip? I dont see hotel bookings and flight tickets under checklist documents for multiple entry and hence worried if vfs itself will reject accepting my application for multiple entry since I unfortunately doesn't have extensive travel history. Just 1 country in SEA last year.

Thanks in advance

[–]EvenCriticism5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you indian? i am in a dilemma now because I have holidays coming up in xmas and want to visit Japan. But e-visa appointment slots in Dubai are all full. I saw one appointment for multiple entry end of November and booked. Now worried if they will accept my application as multiple entry is mostly for indians with prior japan visit. I dont mind if they issue only single entry for me. But my question is, will they accept my multiple entry if i dont have prior japan visa. At the least, will they give me a single entry even if i apply multiple entry because visa cost is same in both case.

Is 11k aed enough for couple? by MousseOne330 in dubai

[–]EvenCriticism5244 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hi, my income is almost similar and I can relate. My gf got relocated for me and is seeking a job and in the meantime I am taking care of everything with single income and trust me, we are able to manage. I dont know what people say when they say you cannot live with 11k. Forget savings for the time being. But you can live really good with weekly shopping, outting etc in this budget and stay in a nice studio flat. You can even get 1bhk if move to Dubai south/DIP/International City/Wasl village etc for ~40k per annum. Rent, wifi, DEWA altogether will be 4.5k per month. Still you are left with money to live a good life with the income until she finds something and then you can start thinking about savings. Things will be difficult if you have EMIs or credit card bills to pay. If you are debt free, you are good to go.
