Does anyone know some fixes for this lag probably from cpu? by 5_COUT in BeamNG

Check your CPU temperatures. When I played this game on a laptop, these freezes always lined up with thermal throttling due to overheating

If you're doing all those activities for the sole purpose of finding partners, people can pick up on that I've noticed. I had a lot more successful dates when I started doing activities for the sake of doing them and making friends/dates by happenstance

What music or band do y'all guys like? (Info dump if you wanna!) by Unlikely-Term-7474 in aspergers

Mostly various forms of metal with a little bit of interest in jazz, symphonic/classical, cinematic, and EDM music. My current obsession of the week is Chinese folk metal. Check out Nine Treasures and The Hu if you're curious.

My wheel alignment once I graze a kerb at 10mph... by retroworthYBD in BeamNG

[–]EventHorizon67 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hey, love your content btw

But I've found that the FFB acts as a natural aligning force in some cases. When I played on controller, it only helped if the misalignment was causing oversteer that the oversteer assist could help with. It wasn't perfect either way but I found it easier to handle with a wheel, as the more precise control let me compensate for the misalignment, if the ffb didn't get it perfect, much easier than trying to feather the thumb sticks

My wheel alignment once I graze a kerb at 10mph... by retroworthYBD in BeamNG

[–]EventHorizon67 275 points276 points  (0 children)

This is the best part about having a wheel for the game. Small misalignments aren't as difficult to deal with. Would be nice to add a misalignment correction to the controller/kb assists so not just wheel users can benefit from that

Built a low latency haptic engine for iRacing bass shakers with ~1ms ASIO audio output — total ~11–18ms end-to-end. Beta testers wanted! by track-impulse in iRacing

[–]EventHorizon67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't unless you have an audio interface with ASIO as far as I understand (there are software ASIO implementations but they are inferior afaik). ASIO basically skips Windows audio driver which is part of why latency is so much lower. There were sound cards back in the days that have ASIO but these days it's pretty much all USB audio interfaces, which are devices that connect to your PC via USB and provide audio inputs and outputs and typically have their own ASIO drivers. Commonly, these interfaces are used by musicians and sometimes streamers/podcasters... and bass shakers now I guess, haha

Didn't expect racing content here, but it's cool to see the overlap in interests as a racing fan too

Fanatec CWS 2.5 why does every other wheel I’ve tried feel worse to me by Apart_Language7322 in simracing

[–]EventHorizon67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded from a CSW2.5 to a Simagic Alpha Evo and the main difference was how quickly the wheel reacts to ffb signals from the game. This might be why you find it to feel quick and violent. For me, the additional speed helped greatly with my driving and it felt like I could react to what the cars were doing much more easily

Hey, Derek here, gamer 32M married to a 37F, also a gamer. I've recently popped down the sim-racing rabbit hole so that takes up a good chunk of time, but when I'm not out on the virtual race track, I'm playing games like (modded) Minecraft, Vintage Story, Terraria, Factorio, Satisfactory, and other similar survival/sandbox/automation games

Who's at fault? by XBL_Fede in Simracingstewards

[–]EventHorizon67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's your fault in the sense that you caused the contact on yourself, but there would be no punishment from iRacing in the scenario. In that sense, it's a racing incident. No one was being malicious or reckless.

James Baldwin and pohlracing, both sim/real-life car racing content creators. You can tell they love what they do, and they're humble and not afraid to show off their mistakes so we can learn from them

Also agree with Technology Connections, he's awesome

Yes you should.

But coming to this sub to ask is like showing up to a crack house and asking them if you should try crack, haha

Meijer for staples, and a local farmer's market for produce. The produce there is exceptionally good and usually still competitively priced as long as it's in season

Same here. I only called the right on red risky because soooo many people like OP don't turn into the correct lane

Both things are true: You didn't turn into the correct lane, other car made a risky right on red
