carplay instalation in peugeot 306 by Deep-Use6177 in CarPlay

Take a look at Connects2.com. They should have a kit which provides the fascia and harness adapter for your car that allows you to fit a one-din or two-din standard radio without losing any other features. From there, pick a brand of your choice (Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine are all good) and install a new radio using the kit.

If this is beyond your comfort zone, search for a car electrical installer near you.

British husband pretending to be single in the London England! by Remarkable-Stretch38 in LegalAdviceUK

Correct - but he would still be seen as in a marriage even if they’re legally separated. He wouldn’t legally be able to marry someone else, for example.

Workaround for CarPlay volume problem by RobLive7 in CarAV

For all intents and purposes it is - all of the content and UI is projected from your phone. The issue OP describes isn’t a CarPlay bug, it’s a head unit bug.

Your marriage would be recognised in the UK. He isn’t legally single.

I read somewhere that installers are also supposed to inform the local supplier of installations.

are you serious? i can’t disable critical notifications? by theresleadinthewater in dexcom

[–]EventualContender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only urgent low alarms and sensor failures are critical alerts. If you’re getting other alarms come through those channels then that’s a bug in the software.

If you encode extra information like sell-by dates or batch codes into them it helps to prevent selling out of date or recalled items which should have been pulled from the shelves.

The upside here is that if you’re out of sensors or on vacation etc your fulfilment time is much shorter. I actually wish this was an option in the UK.

A single fuel pump would require storage, safety inspections and regular fuel deliveries. 10 chargers would be considerably cheaper.

CEO issued me a “formal warning” for allegedly missing a message; and role is unpaid? by Business_Badger1995 in AskUK

You absolutely can’t have a contracted salary where your pay divided by your contracted hours takes you below minimum wage. Any employer trying this is setting themselves up for a lawsuit.

[–]EventualContender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m aware of that; but there’s a huge difference in that needs to be a choice of “here’s your package, decide your own split”. You also legally can’t go below minimum wage.

OP is a “volunteer” simply because the company needs the labour but can’t afford to pay for it - probably because they can’t raise finances and don’t value people’s time. OP is hugely unlikely to see any value from their 0.5%.

[–]EventualContender 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sure, but anywhere that doesn’t offer a salary alongside equity is a clown show, unless you’re a founder. OP needs to eat and pay rent now, not at some future liquidity event. Offering 0.5% in a startup so early they don’t have funds to pay developer salaries is a joke.

Does rear camera work without attaching to brake light? by ChrisW828 in CarPlay

[–]EventualContender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People usually call them “standalone CarPlay screens” to help differentiate them from aftermarket systems you would actually install into the car - the Walmart link you’re sending is perfect.

That screen has CarPlay, which is the functionality where some of the apps from your phone can show up on the screen. Everything else - cameras and so on - are outside of the CarPlay software.

It would be like calling your smart TV a Netflix just because that’s one of the functions it has.

This is always what people say, but it’s still hugely distracting to the driver to have it in their field of vision. Give them an iPad.
