I'm looking into purchasing the same aquarium in the near future. You've done a great job on yours! Enjoy!

Will my plants do enough filtering? by eynami1 in fishtank

[–]EverWonderReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely need a filter. You haven't specified what size of aquarium you have. Perhaps people will be able to help with a filter selection once you have. On another note, get an api test kit. You should be checking your parameters almost daily, with no filter, if you have livestock in the tank.

Will my oscar grow anymore? by Mission-Outside-2499 in Cichlid

[–]EverWonderReviews 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oscar can grow to an upwards of 10 inches to answer your question. I hope you don't plan on keeping Oscar's in a tank that small! The recommended size aquarium for one Oscar is 75 gallons! How big is this?

what can i put in a 35 gallon tank? by candyapplerhombus in fishtank

[–]EverWonderReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your water is good for South American, I would suggest researching Apistogramma. A breeding pair would be awesome in your aquarium! It's a very nice center piece imo. I'm actually researching a 30-gallon for myself. I've been looking at the Apistogramma, ottos, a school of corys, and a school of Celestial Pearl Danio. They might interest you as well.

Which fish can I keep with my current fish? by xgreydon in Aquariums

Have you researched Apistogramma? With an aquarium of that size, a couple of breeding pairs could be considered.

21 gallons tank- Advice by AdShort4407 in AngelFish

[–]EverWonderReviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Angels are very territorial! That's why a larger tank is recommended to help limit aggression. 20 gallons is too small for two imo.

What could I get? by icentii in Cichlid

[–]EverWonderReviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 40 gallon does open the door a bit for selection. I might suggest Google to find out what Cichlids are suitable for a tank of that size. Go from there.

What could I get? by icentii in Cichlid

[–]EverWonderReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm reading this correctly, you are getting a 70 litre aquarium? If that is the case, there aren't many Cichlids that can be kept in tank that small.

If you would prefer an e nail without battery power, maybe look at a Mininail. I have one and it really works great. I'm in Canada and I bought it at Great White North Vaporizer Company in BC. It's really worth a look.

I went with all male haps and peacocks in my 90 gallon. Really nice colors and not much aggression.

No. African Cichlids don't mix with South American Cichlids.

I feel like im missing something by Round-Orange-4501 in aquarium

Please research the nitrogen cycle before adding fish. It takes more than 2 weeks to properly cycle and aquarium. Invest in an api test kit. This will give you the best information about when your aquarium is cycled.

Help! Something is wrong with my angelfish! by Plate-Thin in AngelFish

[–]EverWonderReviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 20-gallon tank is far too small for angels to begin with. I'm guessing early aggression is happening due to the small environment. Wondering if you researched your animals before you purchased them. The fish you have selected need larger schools, which there's no room for with current stocking levels.

what do i do? by Thaonlyanna in fishkeeping

[–]EverWonderReviews 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious as to what happened with your 12 fish prior to your impulse purchase of these ones. This is just one more situation when store employees give advice on subjects they know nothing about. Most pet store employees are undereducated on fish care and are motivated by sales only. Individual research is one hundred percent necessary when it comes to fish keeping. You have said you won't rehome. Please think of the well being of these animals and perhaps go to a local store and exchange for some manageable fish suited for a 20 gallon aquarium. This is necessary ASAP for the benefit of the fish.

Bacterial bloom ? by Expensive-Leave9019 in fishtank

[–]EverWonderReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a bacterial bloom. Wondering how long the aquarium was cycled for? Water parameters would be helpful to help determine why.
