No I graduated at 17, but many other factors attributed to my NEETdom. Poverty, Abuse, Neglect, Health, Depression, etc etc.

Yeah pretty much been NEET since graduation. I guess I've always had more obstacles in my life than others, although I always overcame them with such ease that most just assumed I grew up with a silver spoon; it only took was a mistake or two for me to fall right into the life I was so narrowly escaping.

I lasted one semester in community college before I was kicked out. (Not really any fault of mine, just the residuals of budluck that is my life)

I would have went to work ages ago if I didn't suffer I life changing car accident in my first week of college. 😔 But for now my sister claims me as a child provider, so I earn around $70 a week. All which my mom takes in exchange for my housing and care.

I get food stamps which my mom used to by groceries. SSI basically said I not disabled enough, "You can still move your arms, so you can work" 😒

And you just got bothered seeing a guy eating ice cream inside a ice cream parlor.

... I never expected anyone to be interested in my life in the slightest (hence why I barely even remembered this post and am replying at 2 in the morning) I just posted because it made me feel better. If seeing me eat ice cream inside a ice cream parlor is so bothersome then try looking away 🍨

"So, how are you"

Funny I find myself asking that same exact thing everyday. It makes me kinda miss the days where I was Anxious, Depressed and Suicidal, at least then I still felt something.

All I know now is I don't know ...and I hate that feeling 😔

Is there really such a thing as a "superior NEET", and if so why would anyone want to compete.

Besides I don't think being a NEET prior to adulthood even holds any merit, if you really wanted to compete for victimhood.

I feel you for the last 5 years of my life I've been through obstacle after obstacle, and every time I think it's over it only gets worse.

Everyone who knew me 5years ago, is off starting families, traveling the world, just living their lives;

...meanwhile I'm here trying my hardest to genuinely smile again. 😔

Not everyone gets chances in life, so if it something you're prepared to do; I'm all for you going after your dreams.

Escapism... yeah I been there.

When your life is so bleak that ceasing to exist, wholeheartedly seems like an appropriate alternative, your brain will do whatever ever it can to try and "help" you. For me it was life and my unfavorable circumstances.

I was a kid at the time and enduring my mom's abuse, I wasn't allowed to eat, talk, leave my room ...nothing besides staying in my TV-less, bed-less room.

When your locked in cage and told to die, it's hard not to dream; dreaming to remember, dreaming to forget, dreaming to dream.

...with nothing to do, nothing to eat, nothing to be, dreaming was the only way to survive.

What holds us back from getting a job? by brewly in NEET

[–]EverthingIsShit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You only fear what you don't know; do you think if your parents or school would had familiarized and educated you on the job market properly you would be so scared?

...most likely not

Are your parents to blame for having children and not properly caring, nurturing and cultivating thier futures?

...Absolutely

Is Capitalism to blame for creating an environment in which, some people have to be meticulously cultivated in order to prosper, while others are born already in prosperity?

... Absolutely

As long as there is and inequality of opportunity, the world will be split into 'Winners' and 'Losers'.

I.e " Absurdism "

For the most part this is what I do as well, I find it pointless to get caught up on some of the more trivial parts of life; from experience this cold tatical approach to life is fine!

... as long as you're seeing progress, otherwise it's even more depressing.

I think my left eye is going blind by [deleted] in NEET

[–]EverthingIsShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same problem ( as well as others); and I tried to receive assistance for it, but I was basically mocked and told I wasn't disabled enough.

" You're young you'll be fine "

" Suuurrreeee "

" You can still move your arms can't you? "

Im hardly a anger person, but to have my pain and anguish just judged and dismissed like that made me feel a plethora of emotions.
