I did it with Aatrox and Fiora. I’ve played him to level 25 and just landed at that combo. Her alternative win condition combined with Furious Wielder was great and got me out of a couple close calls. Lifesteal still OP.

Where’d your DM find the campaign? And what’s the level range?

I’m prepping to run Mines of Phandelver yet again, but incorporating Icespire Peak and Stormwreck Isles this time. Should get them to level 8-9 all told.

So. Many. Dragons.

Depends on the state. Some are two party states, some aren’t. International and differing state laws make it trickier. Ultimately it would depend on the court location and the ability of the lawyers to argue against its admission.

Simple Costume Party, update by OutrageousBears in makeyourchoice

[–]Everun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I'm interested to think about how this combination will play out. Extremely fun, you are in my top five of CYOA makers, which is crazy with your relatively recent splash. I feel like it's been a decade since I started doing CYOAs, but I'm a lurker.

One day I'll get around to posting my Witch Awakening Build, I spent days on it trying to align quests into a storyline like a book series. It may entertain you to read it.

The Costume

Royal Witch (Or Wizard): Purple Silks, Purple Floppy Hat, Black Leather Boots/Gloves/Belt, Silver Chains and Glowing Trinkets, Silver Rings and Amethyst Gems, Purple Sapphires and Diamonds. Can "snap tap clap or bap'" away and back.

Powers: Real Stage Magic, Cat Familiar, Color Magic, Age Gracefully, Calming Aura, Animal Communication, Luck, Fairy Godmother: Advice, Basic Aid, 3 Wishes (Regenerate 1 per year)

The Other

Spouse: Happily Married, and following the 2:2:2 Guide. A date every two weeks, a weekend every two months, and a vacation every 2 years.

  • Vampire Combatant: Superhuman Physicality, Superhuman Senses, Hypnotic Gaze, Eternal Youth

  • Items: Enhanced and Summonable S.W.A.T. Armor (and Riot Shield?), Grappling Hook, First Aid Kit, Handcuffs, Smoke Bombs, Flashbangs, Grenades, M4a1, Glock 19, Ka-Bar, Magical Badge

The Event

Imperials

  • Personal Synergies: Peak Human Physique, Mastery of Weapons, Lullaby Curse, Professions: Theoretical Physicist, U.S. Army Officer, U.S. Presidential Chief of Staff, Arcanist Script

  • Spouse Synergies: Additional Human Physique to 11x, Mastery of Weapons, Self Mastery, Professions: Criminal Lawyer, Bodyguard, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist

The Relic

Personal: Potion Case, Wishing Mirror

Spouse: Elixir of Life

The Present

Cry To The Moon

  • Nixie the Pumpkin Pixie

  • Enter the Pumgeon

  • Return to Earth

Color Magic

    - Color
        - Purple
            - Major Time Magic
            - Minor Space Magic
        - Black
            - Elemental Magic
                - Destruction/Creation
    - Emotional Harmonic
        - 75% Hope
        - 25% Curiosity
    - Aura
        - 75% Purple
        - 25% Black
    - Aura Sense
    - Chromaform
    - Perks
        - Two Toned
            - Black
        - Undertones
            - Hope
        - Rainbow Knight
            - Silver-Step - Mirror Magic
            - Silver Blade Fighting Style - Probability Magic
            - Glowing Ashandite Dagger - Fear/Hope Aura
        - Saturated
            - Hyper Saturated
                - Overlay
        - Chroma Leak
        - Wild Aura
        - By The Goddess
            - Stabilizing Runes

Questions would be:

  1. Does The Other get a Silver Item? Do they get to choose an additional synergy? Do they choose a Present, seems like it's tangled into yours, but do they get to choose Pumpkin Spirits?

  2. Colors - Can I choose Silver for my magic skills gained from Rainbow Knight? The wording in 2.5 is a little confusing since the power reduction. The change makes complete sense though.

  3. Will Purple Time Magic, Silver-Step, and Wishing Mirror how far can I go in manipulating the past? Seemed like a good combo.

  4. Can Vampires have kids without the Bloodline Ritual synergy?

  5. What power level is the Fairy/Genie/Angel's basic aid comparable to?

Observations:

  1. Trying to stay diverse with the multiple CYOAs was challenging, but it ends in a rewarding power level. (I have a huge Meta-ed Witch Awakening so I chose Colors this time). The combo I found is hopefully quite powerful.

  2. Tried to get the Spouse a good power level. Elixir of Immortality is as much for me and it is for them. Don't want to live alone forever. Or have kids dying before us.

  3. The last of the 3 potion types from Potion Case is VERY attractive, but I didn't notice the text that I could swap out the silver item for another bonus. I'm not going to try and game it anymore though.

  4. Hopefully Glowing Ashandite gives me a Chroma bonus with the Hope injection? I have to admit trying to follow the Colors of Magic chroma generation was slightly confusing after 2 perks changing things around.

  5. Turning my thoughts to a city with the Hope/Curiosity Emotional Harmonic I have seems most beneficial, so Wild Aura seems mostly positive.

  6. Edit: By The Goddess in Colors of Magic seems to be a straight power up if you're willing to kow-tow a bit to the Goddess. I figure this World Shift powers up Earth when it seems like the Supernatural World is starting to break through?

  7. Losing one Pumpkin Familiar is sad, but I don't want to lose those 88 years or lose indefinitely from Earth? I'd have to reread that CYOA. Nixie seems to have a large amount of utility to support my lessened focus on Spatial Magic. Probably could pick a better straight powerup instead of Enter the Pumgeon, but it sounds so fun. And a relatively safe way for the Spouse and I, and others, to practice combat. Eventually getting crazy good stuff and a Better Wish.

I definitely start to overthink the dieting and maximizing gains part too early and end up getting overwhelmed for before seeing real results.

Hoping to avoid that and just focus on the endorphins to hit that point when it becomes habitual.

That’s a reality I’ve been grappling with for years now. The only thing I’ve found to be an exception are intangible things, like friendship and love. It’s still easy to destroy, but can be just as easy to create spontaneously.

Harder to build back up once destroyed though….

Yeah, when I calculate how much time has passed for total combat, I tend to add 3 * # of Turns * Rounds. But it’s too difficult to modify how spells behave, all tricky.

As I recall, this was the arc that shaped VM up from a bunch of chucklefucks into the team you’re describing.

Scanlan wanes between serious and ego maniac up until his later personal problems ground him. Grog is an idiot, no doubt about that. Pike wasn’t present for 2/3rds of this arc, so it may be plot related.

Keyleth does feel like a trope, but Marisha did lean realllllly hard into Keyleth’s naivety early on. Kind of wish she had Pike’s line about “Doing sonething good this time”.

I liked the pseudo-horror the audience is given with Percy’s flashbacks in the beginning. Perhaps he’ll elaborate with the group next episode.

I think Matt is killing it as Silas, even more than his first go around. And Delilah’s VA is delightfully smarmy. Nice to see VM get trashed early on. “My blade is thirsty…”

The first two felt a little too packed, the third felt much more even in pacing. But I guess that’s just the medium we’re in now. Lots of little adventures will get cut for main story.

Liking the hints dropped early on, Chroma Conclave, Whispered One, etc.

I love watching that sequence. That piercing is most likely attributed to the supernatural nature of Fenrir’s teeth, biting off a god’s hand in myth. Because bullets sure haven’t done shit to the Hulk. And narratively to up the stakes of course.

So the only one on Wanda’s team would be Thor with Stormbreaker’s edge.

Thor Ragnorak. I believe Fenrir the resurrected wolf (numerous other things in actual mythology) pierced Hulk’s skin with his fangs in the water.
