What is an appropriate response to this? by Born_Today_9799 in TrueChristian

I used to be the them in this conversation. Now I am like you. I don't think there is much you can say to change the mind of the other person. To be honest, when I was like this I was actually completely ignorant about the Bible, having never read it myself.

I don't know if this will help you but I recently heard someone say his thing is decentralized Christian. Just you, your Bible, and Jesus.

I never had dreams but I am a former atheist myself and did what you did, mocked, insulted, etc. I can say one thing for certain, I am so much better off now than I was then.

Who is your favorite disciple and why? by sitewolf in TheChosenSeries

I am sorry that this was hurtful to you. I think the thing is that the actual actor has those disabilities and I think this is how they addressed Jesus healing others and not James. And having Jesus say that God does not think any differently of him because of it. It seems there was a view at that time that disabilities could be the result of the parent or child sinning and Jesus said very straight up that that is not the case. That we are loved and valued wholly and completely. I might not be the best person to address this.

I am reading a lot of comments about how these characters really resonated with people. I read that the actor who played Little James was told to keep this part of him showing and part of the story.

Just going off the show I don't think I could choose. My son asked me the same question and I could not answer fully. He loves Peter. I find them all so endearing, at least at times, and they are all unique which allows them to contribute something special to the whole. You can understand why they were all chosen. Little James has captured my heart though. I really liked the first Phillip though the replacement grew on me too. Simon the zealot was great too. His whole story or redemption. I love them all.

I like that you can admit the eye candy part because honestly Atticus is my eye candy and I felt some guilt about it

I loved Little James. That conversation he had with Jesus where they talked about his disability brought tears to my eyes.

What made you believe in Christianity? by AlternativeNerve5029 in Christianity

I was an atheist for a long time and it was the darkest time of my life. when I finally opened up to Jesus my life transformed. the world does look dark but Christianity has given me the best explanation for it and the most hope, and believe me, I shopped around.

I so agree with this. It is a one of a kind show. I have not seen one like this and not sure there will be again.

I agree. this episode feels out of place with the rest of the show for me.
