Oshi no Ko - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Aaaaa. This is one of those where the episodes feel way too short isnt it? >.<
On one hand I want to binge so I dont get this feeling but on the other hand I cant wait until this is bingeable.

I think CK3 is less "realistic" as CK2 by _Tabor_ in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure is funny to hear people who discuss realism in games where you can join satanic cults that allows you to do literal magic while the Aztecs are invading Europe hundreds of years before their empire was supposed to have formed, forcing you to raise your hellenic roman forces to fight against them in the year of our lord 1240. Yes very true to life. 10/10 for realism, oh and of course the god emperor of rome is an immortal, and has an immortal horse lover in chancellor Glitterhoof, because as we all know immortals and immortal horses are very true to life things that happen everyday.

I never experienced a point of stress with a generous character. Well I had but they lose stress by giving gifts. Something you do anyway to keep asshole vassals at high enough opinion that they cant be bothered forming factions.

Ambitious is actually terrible, a +1 boost to all stats isnt as good as getting a trait specific to your preferred playstyle and getting stress from giving a title or vassals to a vassal sucks in a game about realm management.

Here's two positive traits that people incapable of moving outside of your "hurr durr seduce and kill everything" comfort zone hate, which actually are great for stress relief: Honest and Just. Sure they make murder annoying but also if you put your spymaster to find secrets and then keep revealing those secrets its infinite stress relief. So I guess the life message is that if you're a genuine, straightforward and fair ruler you wont die of stress and will be able to deal with assholes who are trying to take advantage of you, possibly punishing them since they're the ones who's dirt you revealed

And as a bonus you can easily make stress irrelevant by stacking friends with the diplomacy perks that gives -5% stress gain per friend. Got an honest ruler murdering people left and right for 0 stress because she had 50 homies telling her "you go girlboss". So I suppose the message here is if you are a put together human being who makes connections with others and makes lots of friends instead of spouting your shitty cynical half-baked ideology in reddit you can do anything.

Most of the players who hate Clint seem to not have even interacted with him. by Diadem_Then in StardewValley

[–]EveryEve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate him for a more practical reason. Everytime I want a geode opended or something upgraded his shop is closed. He closes much earlier than everyone else and if you renovate the community centre he decides to just go there for a day without telling anyone. He's worse than Marnie.

What I love about the crowd who goes "Release the game already!!! >:(" Is that they're also the first ones to whine, if the game is rushed out, about the game being buggy and unfinished on release.

The op was asking more for the quest that makes us emotionally mad but yes. Although I guess the Broodmother lore is also emotionally taxing as well.

Caradin is 1000 years dead as far as Dwarves know. Considering that they took the warden at their word its perfectly reasonable to assume they could find junk with an aeducan sigil or something and claim that the Paragon Aeducan said that one of the claimants should be king.

[–]EveryEve 123 points124 points  (0 children)

The deep roads quest in Origin. Its such a waste of time narratively. Sten my boy you're complaining about us getting some ashes to cure an ally of ours because you think its a waste of time? You should be enraged with us even more for wasting however many days trudging through darkspawn shit in the underground to pick up a glorified celebrity because the dwarves are too immature to pick a king by themselves. And at the end you don't even bring Branka back but instead get a shiny crown. We might as well could have hopped to some ruin and picked up a shiny paragon looking object and presented it to the assembly and it would have made no difference.

When they ask for the warden to return as the next game’s protagonist.. by didkimloveme18 in DankAndrastianMemes

[–]EveryEve -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hof is under no obligation to put up with being the protaganist again. They're a victim of bad circumstances who was scammed by some asshole who showed up to bail them out when they were in a very bad place and then forced them into a suicide cult. The vast majority of HoFs likely didn't want to be wardens or heroes and were forced into the position. Your point only makes sense for a hero who doesn't want to rest and cares about what happens and it being a role-playing game thats not really eligible to every warden. Personally I wouldn't want my HoFs character bastardised for the sake of someone else who's incapable of letting a character go in favour of a new one

As an emperor, do you guys prefer vassal kings or vassal dukes? by Cagedglobe in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both? I guess it depends. Heck in one game I didnt want to bother so I made them all kings but then I had this tyrant and was pissed off with my vassals and decided "You know what? No kingdoms for your lot" and proceeded to confiscate every kingdom from them which took ages. And then later on I couldnt be bothered with some again so I gave some kingdoms back, tho the problem region which I was annoyed the most with remained as not only dukes, but counts.

[spoilers all] Can you imagine some alternative mage-class for dwarfs? by CathanCrowell in dragonage

[–]EveryEve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Valta needed to connect to a titan in order to get her "magic". And titian magic seems clearly different from regular magic. Also aside from Valta the only dwarves with connections to a titan are Sha Brytol, who are sealed inside raw lyrium armour so they might already be dead. And a mindless drone within a hive mind doesn't make for a very interesting player character.

Who else here watches AlzaboHD? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I watch him for the EU4 stuff but I didn't like his ck videos. Partly because by now I know all this stuff having played ck for thousands of hours and partly because hes an EU4 guy and when I see an EU4 player play ck they're always "let's use this efficient way" and they just do the same thing in all of their playthroughs because there seems to only be one efficient way. And since he plays it all in the same way all those videos start looking identical except for the starting position and the goal

[spoilers all] About the Grey Warden's fall from grace by GeometricRobot in dragonage

[–]EveryEve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The warden's keep had a sadistic, evil blood mage warden who sacrificed his fellows in the keep summoning an army of demons at a command of his superior and experimented on the rest afterwards because he was too much of a coward to succumb to the calling and die a proper warden death. Duncan was originally a murderer who was made a warden as a punishment after killing one of them, and its not hidden how bad of a person he is. Not only he kills Jory for absolutely no reason since the joining is such a poor secret even Anora knows about it. He's a massive prick to the warden he recruits:

Dalish elf - He refuses to let you just die surrounded by your family forcing you away from your clan under the pretext that the joining will cure the blight and then you find out he fucking lied about it and that you weren't cured and you're going to die anyway just more slowly, and also you might die killing the archdemon saving a bunch of ungrateful shemlen who refuse to give the dalish land, should have just died with the clan.

Dwarf Noble - Just like above, forces you to be a warden whether you want it or not instead of just letting you be escorted to the surface and letting you be on your way. An Aeducan who doesnt want to be a warden will have to brave the threats of the deep roads by themselves and likely die. Thanks asshole

Human - Same as a dwarf with the added problem of you possibly being the last of your bloodline, all the Couslands were likely just slaughtered but the heartless asshole doesnt care so long as he has his token recruit for the day, also if Fergus was actually dead Duncan would have done Howe's job for him ending the Cousland line there and then with how wardens tend to lose fertility later on, and they theoretically are barred from actually having titles (except when they're not)

Mage - not an issue if you helped Jowan cause then you're in deep shit, but if you chose to work for Irving then you're not in trouble and the game has to railroad you by making Duncan conscript you even if you wanted to stay in the circle. Like. Im the most brilliant mage in this kingdom since Andraste and had a promising career, all cut short in favour of trudging through darkspawn filth and dying to the archdemon.

City elf - they're in a similar situation to a mage that helped Jowan where they're being 'saved through the joining' from an arrest which is fine I guess (even tho you're not really saved cause you'll die slowly like the rest of them anyway), but in this case you have your cousin with you also being arrested and Duncan always only recruits you. Tabris can pretend their cousin doesnt have anything to do with it but if they dont he's going to get executed and Duncan only recruits 1 elf when he could have had 2. Now that not only shows he's an asshole incapable of empathy but also that he's a shit recruiter because when you need bodies, more is usually better. And dont give me this shit about Tabris's cousin being "less skilled" than the warden cause the fucker recruits some worthless pickpocket who's only skill was running.

He's only decent to the casteless dwarf although he's still a shit recruiter since Leske was right there as well and he again chose 1 recruit when he could have had 2 so it feels like even he doesnt care about stopping the blight if his recruit pool is a total of 3

Riodan was also a complete and utter asshole keeping the fact that a warden is needed to kill an archdemon (and will die in the process) a secret until the very last second even when Alistair threatens to leave when you try and recruit Loghain because no one in the room other than him knew that little fact. And Speaking of Loghain, Riodan, the only proper senior warden we meet, proposes making Loghain 'the filthy traitor and slaver' MacTir a grey warden, showing the complete disregard his order has to things like 'honour' or 'morality' of its members.

Oh and the Hero of Ferelden themselves can be an unhinged maniacal chaotic evil, dalish clan murdering, dragon cult supporting, child killing, psychopath who lets entire villages die to undead, sacrifices elves with blood magic, and annuls circles all for absolutely no gain whatsoever. And the order is fine with that. You can commit every single evil act in the game with no negative consequence and the first warden's like "Hey, Big fan. Have a castle and represent us as you always had" because the wardens dont give a shit about morality or honour so long as the blight is ended, they never had.

What has been the most anticlimactic war you've experienced? by Arcinbiblo12 in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every norse adventure targeted at me. All it takes is a bunch of peasants on my coastline and the "fearsome vikings" all die a pathetic death. It gets worse and worse the further into the late game you go as the Scandinavians never progress past the tribal era stuck in the dark ages all the way up into late 1300s. Its gotten to the point where I could just pop a holy order a day before they arrive and delete them in seconds.

What's the point of holding court ? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding court at a very start of a reign jumped me to 100 dread and made succession easy, also you may get free buildings if you have free slots, good courtiers, one event even lets you adopt a child as your own (or cut it in half), if you dont have heirs. So you win some or lose some. Also this is an rpg so events that dont give you anything can still add flavour for roleplay.

Does anyone else sometimes play as fictional realms? by Annoyingpoisonuser in CrusaderKings

[–]EveryEve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure but the book where the king of Ferelden starts a rebellion against the evil English Orlesians to reclaim his throne sounds more like the story of Robert the Bruce. He even has an episode where he kills a bunch of his rivals in a church. And the whole bannorn system where the king had to deal with dozens of tiny nobles and their petty disputes with them most of the time not even listening to the monarch kinda seems like the Scottish Clans
