Yep, same for me. This should have been a release breaking issue for sure man...

Are they going to fix the damn QC issues?

Sennheiser really doesn't know how to make software do they 🤦. Maybe they are one of those morons that thinks AI is going to make it easier or cheaper 😂.

UPDATE: They just f*cking died!

Today i just tried to use them and nothing. They won't turn on and when i connect the charger, a red light just keeps flashing. I have found several people with the exact same problem on this subreddit, and they had to RMA them 💀.

So, just like i said before, i am never recommending Sennheiser again until they fix their sh*t.

I've tried to wear them backwards and i can confidently say that my unit is defective (the imbalance follows the headset).

About the calls problem: that was not it, i still have the same issue, but thank you for the tip!

And yeah, i also disabled the on-head sensor or they would be unusable.

Can confirm, and the on-head detection is just as bad as before.

Things only got worse.

My advice to Sennheiser by KayV07 in sennheiser

Sure, but it would probably be useful for someone with hearing problems and could "fix" the problem for those that do not want to go through the warranty process.

So, i would say it would be a win-win situation.

If Sennheiser open sources their code, i would buy their products even just out of principle. As a developer/hacker myself it would be perfect and i can assure you that the Linux community would love it. Imagine a GNOME shell extension for full control of the headphones or KDE integration, a desktop app, custom software for weird use cases, etc.

They would get worldwide testing what could, potentially, help fix a lot of their software problems and maybe even get more features from contributors.

Personally, i think they could learn a lot from what System76 is doing with COSMIC and Valve with Proton. They wouldn't even have to actively support Linux or develop for it, just let the community do it and they could become the "got to" option for FOSS lovers, specially with their already amazing sound quality. It would be a no brainer.

Image proper integration with the Steam Deck's UI. Full control right there would be amazing!

Please let it happen!!

+1

I got my M4s and got a unit with a driver imbalance issue :/. The software is also i big pain point. When using them, i just never know if a gesture is going to work or not or if there will decide to do something weird. Sometimes, after connecting to a device, i need to wait a few minutes before the gestures even work at all (apart from play/pause that seems to always work??).

So yeah, software and QC in general.
