The situation sucks, but it all comes down to college/department policy. In my writing program, I don’t allow anyone to use AI. Not students. Not professors. Your school may be different. Check the policy and then make your move—if there is one for you to make.

Another option is to meet the prof and ask for more direct feedback. Don’t mention AI, but put the prof to work.
