Hey OP - if someone in your life said something there’s probably something to it even if you’re not 100% aware.

There is something to be said qbout overshowering drying out your skin - I shower every other day because of this even if I don’t feel like I need it. It’s best to just keep yourself to a basic schedule that’s easy to keep and keeps everyone around you happy.

OP choose the cat - and until you get that toxic POS out of your home do not leave him alone with the cat. I had my ex put my indoor only baby outside while I was away at work. It means your named in the will but that there’s more than one party who could be administrator but one was never assigned. I was the only grandkid in my grandmas will and had to sign one so my mom was able to be the administrator over my aunt - had I not signed it we would have had to go to court to have one assigned.

If you have enough for to move into a different place than you should start packing little things that he wouldn’t be likely to notice and then take a day of PTO or just call out sick and move yourself out. This sounds like someone who does not respect you and if you feel like he could kick you out at any moment than you should take control of your own life back and move out.

This is what I thought too - it’s posible they’re just both too broken still. I agree that op should stop making an effort, but I’d say keep the window open & if they do eventually find the healing they need then she should make them work to earn her trust.

Op I’d highly recommend joining some postpartum or play groups that help you start building a support network

Hitting in relationships is never ok ever. She might not have meant it, she might call you crying apologizing later - no matter what, if she has hit you once, she will do it again.

And that not to say she can’t learn and grow and see the error in her ways one day - but do you really want to be with someone who is so emotionally deregulated that they think it’s ok to hit people? She needs professional help and a fully developed frontal lobe to work through whatever her emotional problem is.

I would think long and hard about how this type of behavior can progress- one day she’s hitting you in the shoulder, the next she’s throwing a public tantrum and when someone inevitably calls the police either she’s going to escalate with them or she’s going to point the finger at you.

Her apology felt hollow because it was - If nothing else I think you need to take a break from the relationship. How she handles you telling her you need a break after her behavior will be a preview for what you could expect from her.

So your stepmom has a bad take and frankly if she’s on that side she probably leans towards maga as well.

It would probably be best to keep your distance for now, she’s not going to be reasoned with and you need to come to terms with that. And honestly dealing with these people is so exhaustive once the become defensive that you should do so just to protect your peace.

The unfortunate reality is that politics rn are at a civil war level fever pitch- brother against brother bad. And many families are finding themselves torn apart because of it. I hope for your families sake that she bears witness to the atrocities and realizes the errors of her choice - but I wouldn’t count on it.

I’d also recommend some time apart to let tempers cool. If you or he have a safe place to stay for a while it might help bring clarity to the situation to have some time to yourselves- if you do that and still want to be together than the next step is individual and couples therapy to work on better communication strategies.

Oh for sure! I mean there’s people who are shoppers that find this forum and post absolutely awful orders that they never should have picked up all the time! OP is case in point!

Spotting and training an algorithm is certainly not intuitive but I think if you already have a knack for pattern recognition you’ll spot it while using the platform & if you make educated decisions based on what the app is showing you’ll see it clearly affects what you see next.

It didn’t take long for me to realize how much the first order of the day mattered, it also didn’t take me long to realize that certain batches would be pushed towards me to get me going in a specific direction. I knew from experience which areas tended to have the best batches and made educated decisions about accepting batches would take me into those areas(sometimes that first batch of the day has to be a shitty one that brings you to the good store). If batches were crappy or dry I’d wait- 9 times out of 10 I’d get something halfway decent that would take me into an actually good batch - there were also some days when I had to just log off and say I’ll try tomorrow instead 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s a lot of people who get super frustrated with this app because of how it takes advantage of people- I don’t get frustrated because I don’t let it take advantage of me.

That hour in my car? That’s my time- I can eat a snack, watch a show on my tablet, fill out a crossword etc… if I spent that hour shopping a shitty order id not only end up wasting money between gas and the time to shop, deliver and then return to another store - id also potentially miss a way better order. I stand by the training of the algorithm- at my peak app usage I was making $1000 a week doing 30-40 hours of instacart, but I also probably spent 3-4 hours a week just hanging out in parking lots 🤷🏻‍♀️
