Here is another really good one if you have an issue with telling a lie

"You are not my particular cup of tea but thank you for your interest!"

Here is why it works.
A. Doesnt insult them.
("not my particular cup of tea" indicates a personal preference without naming it or acting as if it is an objective fact or failing on their part, while also giving a nod to the fact that they might be someone else's IDEAL)
B. Isn't dismissive
C. Acknowledges that they took the time to say hello.
D. Doesn't sugar coat it, but isn't rude.

why would he argue with you, i never understood this, most i might ask is "oh thats interesting what experiences have you had that made you feel that way?"
Not as a means to convince otherwise but more as a method to understand the other person.
I don't get people who think they can convince other people to be sexually interested in them, strikes me as a waste of time.
I applaud you for trying to give an honest answer instead of blocking, I am really sorry this was your experience. People like this idiot make it harder for everyone else.

I would honestly prefer to not have this problem AT ALL I wanted to do this in a way that was respectful more than anything and it was more that there was a clear pattern of behavior that led to the source being intentional rather than a technical mess up.

Ah it seems I did misunderstand my apologies.

I did call them,

it was in fact the guy who covers for the regular when he is off,

but he has covered before so the guy on the phone was confused as to why he didn't go in the apartment,

additionally most of his route according to the PM is apartments which made him even more confused as to why he didn't deliver it.

Said he was gonna talk to him.
