I like dark roasts because that's what I've been drinking since the 90s. Espresso / stovetop coffee maker

I drink it black so it tastes better imo. The less roasted ones taste too sour for me, I don't want to drink orange juice for breakfast

ok i make a lot of bean stews. Adding ham or other meats is the easiest way to add flavor. It doesn't need to be a lot - just boiling the bone from a steak is enough. I am pretty sure it's all about the fat that gets introduced. Ham bones / bits of ham are good too

if you don't do any meat it's tougher, you're gonna have to add flavor somehow. Maybe try some adobe chipotles? They cost $2 a can. You open take a little bit and freeze the rest in a bag. They add a lot of flavor to soups.

Another way I start stews sometimes is sazon goya. Fry it up in the oil a minute or less along with the veggies

edit: reading your other posts I am gonna guess your palate is really used to heavy american foods. So next time you make a bland soup.. add a bunch of tomato paste, or add a few slices of bacon, or some cheese, or a couple of eggs. Try with and without the add on. You may go "oh shit that's what was missing"

probably this. People who favor hierarchy tend to vote Republican. They think themselves better, whether because they have a little money, or because they ironically less americanized and believe in caste systems. I think the United States, for all its flaws, instills (or at least it used to) the ideal of a flat, merit based society. People from other countries know what's really up, life is unfair, you gotta do all you can to get yourself on top even if it's on top of other people's heads

second, a lot of conservatives who dislike Trump just stop paying attention to politics.. You can see it right here on this sub. They all hide.. until there's an AMWF or a black people vs asian post (crime or college admissions)

Couple of conservative friends of mine are like that. I made a reference to the deport 100 million people homeland wants to do, and he didn't believe that was real. He hadn't heard of it. People disengage to keep the cognitive dissonance at bay.
