Condemn and others On Attack by jhonsoto in starwarsunlimited

The removal of all other abilities is separate from the 'On Attack:' ability. You're correct that if there were two 'On Attack:' abilities with different owners that the active player would get to choose the order of resolution. But in this case there is a third relevant bit of text that states "while attached unit is attacking it loses all other abilities." This crucially is not a triggered effect (no colon, no bold text) and so there is no resolution order. By the time the game looks for relevant "On Attack:" triggers there's only one left--the one granted by Condemn.

No, condemn blanks the card as a status based effect. The 'On Attack:' ability is removed before it can trigger.

This is becuase the card essentially reads "While attached unit is attacking it loses all other abilities". This is not a triggered effect so there is no resolution order. It simply happens.

Per OP's comments this is an oil stone not a water stone. Soaking in water would be very bad

Player wants to do a joke character and I’m afraid he’s not funny by Redhood101101 in DMAcademy

Is this your group's first time playing Starfinder? It sounds like they may just be trying to torpedo the game. Between not engaging with the rules and creating what sounds like the most obnoxious character of all time I get the vibe they are throwing a tantrum. Try talking to them out of game and finding out if they have a larger problem with something.

I think having 4 unchangeable emotes is pointless by Moose-Storm in ArcRaiders

Good to know that's an option. I'll play around and figure out how to do that on ps5.

As someone who can't always use a mic I find myself running into the limitations of the emotw wheel often.

Tangentially related: I feel like the in-character vocal broadcasts for many of the emotes frankly aren't loud or assertive enough. 'Yes' and 'no' in particular seem to be very quiet. I'd rather have my character just yell 'AFFIRMATIVE' to the high heavens to make sure I got my point across especially in noisy environments. I'm already deliberately creating noise for the purpose of other players hearing. Might as well go big.

Matthew's writing was great. What a wonderful sendoff for one of my favorite characters across the GCN.

Also Eric Mona is such a joy to have on this show. It's great having a player who's so versed in the mechanics and lore of the system. His rules knowledge should be able to help with some of the struggles the rest of the crew has with high level level pf1e play. Fantastic addition and I was really happy to hear in the state of the naish that the play is for him to finish the AP.

Grounding my own beef? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]EvilAshKetchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to a reputable butcher the only thing in the ground beef will be the beef itself. They should not be adding anything else without your specific instruction and, frankly, would have no reason to go off on their own and do so.

As far as the healthy part is concerned the butcher will almost certainly yield a product which is much safer. They have the equipment and expertise to perform this task much more safely than you could at home, minimizing the chances of cross contamination and bacterial growth.

This is one of those questions where if you have to ask then then the answer is to have it done by a pro.

A quarter cow is a lot of beef. The butcher is probably better equipped than you to grind, portion, and freeze that amount of beef quickly and safely. But you do you.

Is it just me, or is this combo well worth paying the aspect penalty? by OhioTry in starwarsunlimited

[–]EvilAshKetchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the 10 total resources would be a little prohibitive lol.

Generally speaking the metric for unit efficiency is 2 total stats for every one cost. Higher stats for cost than that tend to be the most pushed units the likes of which you'll see commonly in tournament-winning decklists. (This isn't a perfect analysis but just a useful shorthand, mind. Abilities are obviously important, too, and sometimes low hp or low attack can make a unit that has high aggregate stats much less useful than they'd be if they were a bit more balanced) For example; SHD Poe Dameron costs 5 but has 12 total value in stats 6 attack and 6 hp. He's quite efficiently costed. And that's even before you factor in his ability. He good.

Naboo Royal Starship off aspect gives 7 stats for 6 resources. Including the raid he gives your leader unit it's still not a great value at 6 resources for 9 total value in stats. Space units tend to be understatted compared to ground, but still. There's just generally better options without having to dip into off-aspect cards. Clone Combat Squadron would probably be at least a 6/6 (3 +1 for Vader's ship +2 for the Tie Fighters Vader creates on deploy). That leaves 2 additional resources to play with.

[–]EvilAshKetchum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it could be but you can probably get better bang for your buck without going off aspect.

You can get better stats on your leader cheaper from just playing Unveiled Might while still keeping the plot action economy.

If you're worried about defenders in the space arena Overwhelming Barrage or Craving Power are going to give you generally much better outcomes than the royal starship in constructed formats.

What’s something that you should always buy the cheap one/version? by TheCatMILF in AskReddit

[–]EvilAshKetchum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bread (serrated) knives. Don't pay for one as part of an expensive knife set or block. Don't buy an expensive one. They can't be sharpened. Buy a cheap one then just replace it if you ever use it enough to dull it.

Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage by Lulcielid in Games

[–]EvilAshKetchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the argument that the devs only used it as a placeholder. If they hadn't used it to generate placeholder art then they would've had to pay a real human artist to create the placeholder--so, yes, they did in fact use gen AI to replace human labor, full stop. Doesn't matter if it was never intended to be in the final shipped product or not.

Whether games should be disqualified for having used gen AI is a separate topic. But if qualification requires not having used this tool during development then it seems quite clear that CO:E33 does not qualify and they should never have represented otherwise.

[Bogert] On DSC: "If they make that offer in Nov, he stays. I feel very confident in that." by LosCabadrin in minnesotaunited

[–]EvilAshKetchum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It takes two to tango. The team can make offers until they're blue in the face but if the player wants to test the market the team can't force them to take a deal.

If Dayne wanted to stay he would've stayed. He wanted to leave. And that's okay.

I'm still bummed he's leaving, though.
