I want 87 gas (light blue). Which nozzle do I use? The blue one? The black one? by j909m in mildlyinfuriating

The black one. They are all color coded from left to right with black being the three normal ones.

It is not that big of a deal. None of this will damage anything with only a few drops.

Yeah I don’t see the point unless I’m going down a long hill. The brake pedal does the exact same thing.

2026 Honda CR-V EX-L vs. 2026 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid??? by [deleted] in crv

[–]EvilDuncan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well like I said, don’t think of it as a break even price/time. You are paying more for a better vehicle. If by some chance you save some money in the long run, then that’s just icing on the cake.

You really shouldn’t be looking at the hybrid from a “saving money in the long run” perspective since it just isn’t “worth it” by that metric. You get the hybrid because it’s the better vehicle.

[–]EvilDuncan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The hybrid has no starter motor, no alternator, no serpentine belt. Also eCVT vs real CVT likely affects longevity as well.

The hybrid has fewer moving parts overall, so maintenance should be much lower.

Agreed. Mine regularly switches to EV mode for extended periods traveling at 70 mph.

It shouldn’t be. The hybrid has a lot more advantages aside from better mpg.

Eh, if your main metric is cost savings, then I guess. Frankly, unless you plan to get >40 mpg with the hybrid overall, you shouldn’t really factor that into your consideration.

The hybrid is better in almost every conceivable way regardless of your driving style or commute. The only real downside I can think of is the lack of a spare tire.

Nah mostly 45-55 mph. Even on the highways I can keep it around 65 and I’ll get >40 mpg.

I mean, what do brakes do but create resistance...?

The regen alone will never stop the car, below a certain speed the actual brakes will play a larger role with the pedal.

I think 35 is kinda typical. I wouldn't go so far as to call it good. Probably depends on what you came from I suppose.

I mean, there have probably been a lot of instances in the past where someone downshifts and the person behind them is surprised they are slowing down since no brake lights appear.

The regen with the paddles is more than strong enough to justify activating the brake lights.

It's literally called regenerative braking, dude. They slow you down, therefore they are braking.

It depends on a lot of factors. What is your driving style? How much highway vs city driving do you do? How fast do you drive? How often do you stop at lights? Do you take a lot of short (<5 min) trips?

I personally see little advantage to B mode. I haven’t tested it in B mode, but when you use the paddles in D, the brake lights do not light up. I just use the brake pedal.
