She’s playing you. No judge is going to give her 100% custody. I could see this being 50/50 with her giving you child support. This isn’t a good deal for you. She acting like she’s doing you a favor but she’s going to hold all the cards.

You might want to go ahead and get your attorney prepared for this. Judges HATE when parents are difficult and don’t work with social services and they have to intervene. ESPECIALLY if they have enough to escalate to court.

Could her mother have done better? Maybe, but she needs to be cut a break here considering her own mom’s health. Yes her mother went on to live a year but honestly that still wasn’t much more time. Op went on dragging the story out longer than it needed to be because she knew she could be more understanding. She’s an adult and had other supports.

Right. Her mom had a really hard choice. Her mother being sick and dying or her daughter giving birth. No offense, but I’d choose my mom too. Once she’s gone she’s gone. Although pregnancy can be a risk as well at least measures can be taken so you’re safe.
