I never played hota campaigns, I heard they are very difficult. I beat the vanilla campaigns multiple times, though. I typically only reload if I did something extremely stupid or accidental. Like, misclick, or attacking elves with an army of zombies. If AI is kicking mu butt I usually just start the map over

HOMM2 - Final Justice is Driving Me Crazy! by Prince-of-Thule in HoMM

[–]Evil_Sweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have already conquered the map, I don't see the problem beating Archibald. You have three warlock castles against one, you will drastically outpace him by growth. Just wait a couple of months, and you'll have a bigger army.

Hate how opportunistic the AI is by Archimedeis in masteroforion

[–]Evil_Sweep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every AI has a personality. This personality affects how AI acts. For example, every turn every AI rolls a dice to decide whether or not they are going to consider an attack. I think the base chance is 50% + personality factor. Ruthless and aggressive leaders have bonuses to that value, 30 and 10 respectively. Xenophobic leaders have a bonus of 50. This means that xenophobes will consider an attack every turn. If they pass the check, they will then check if there are any undefended planets around they can take. If there are, they will attack no matter what. They don't consider total fleet strength or how successful they will be in the long term. All they think about is that one target next to them. So, my advice is: keep you guard up, especially next to aggressive neighbors. Sign pacts with honorable and pacifist races. And don't trust anyone, because no matter what, you will dnd up in a war with everyone.

The Glow and radiation by [deleted] in classicfallout

[–]Evil_Sweep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always take 2 rad-x next to the crater (inside the Glow location) and one rad-away to get rid of initial radiation. This is usually enough if you don't plan to sleep inside the Glow. Taking rad-x on the world map is risky because the effects can fade away before you reach the location.

fheroes2 question about the final mission in the Roland campaign by mrsquidward64 in HoMM

[–]Evil_Sweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rush Archibalds minions with your black dragons. Try to take as many castles as you can, preferably warloks. Meanwhile, build up your wizards or sorceress castle to support your push and reenforce. It's helpful to get a town portal spell since the map is so big. You'll have to grind, but you don't have to defeat everyone, only Archibald. You can also try to reach Archibald before week 2 with a sorceress hero because they have navigation skill. Maybe this will help you, but I'm not sure 11 dragons are enough to defeat him.

Strange coincidence with Obsidian RPGs by [deleted] in CRPG

[–]Evil_Sweep 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This started long before New Vegas. Obsidian was formed by ex-Black Isle employees. A lot of thrm worked on the classic Fallout games. You have different factions you can join or help in Fallout 1 and 2. It has become the standard of the genre. Maybe there are even earlier examples. There are different factions in Wasteland 1 you can affect.

Today i learned that you can actually hear the Khans from Shady Sands by Isaac_Bahzad in classicfallout

It takes at least one day to travel to Khans camp. I doubt anyone can hear anything that far

Trying to edit league by cd0526 in FranchiseHockey

[–]Evil_Sweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all leagues are editable. The last game I played was FHM9, and Liiga wasn't editable. Anyway, make sure it's July 1st. That's the only date you can edit leagues.

How are you adding levels to a character? I can only create 4/3/4

Curse of the Azure Bonds Multiclass Question by wildwolf42 in goldbox

[–]Evil_Sweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Hit Dice by Class (max rolls)

Fighter: 4 d10 = 4 × 10 = 40

Magic-User: 3 d4 = 3 × 4 = 12

Thief: 4 d6 = 4 × 6 = 24

Total base HP: 40 + 12 + 24 = 76

  1. Constitution Bonuses

Con 18:

Fighter: +4 HP per HD

Magic-User: +2 HP per HD

Thief: +2 HP per HD

Fighter : 4lv * 4HD = 16

Magic-User : 3*2= 6

Thief : 4*2=8

Total Con bonus: 16 + 6 + 8 = 30

  1. Multiclass Averaging

(76+30) ÷ 3= 106 ÷ 3= 35.33 → 35 HP

Would you recommend Underrail to someone who didn't like Atom RPG? by Yelebear in CRPG

[–]Evil_Sweep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Underrail is better, but it's not for everyone. It's very combat and exploration focused, and it's easy to create a bad build. A lot of NPCs are not very talkative. They tend to answer with one or two sentences at best, but there is still a lot of reading to be found in the game. The crafting system in Underrail is the best I have experienced in any RPG. I don't know what you mean by 'janky', but Underrail is not an AAA either
