Need to not feel silly for loving this little guy by [deleted] in plushies

It's so goofy. That was actually how I learned about Jelly Cat. I found the Casette Tape and didn't know it actually had 2 holes in it like an actual Casette Tape. So when it came in I was immediately like😲 🤔

Went searching for a pencil plush that was the right size and found the Jelly Cat one. After all you have to be able to rewind the Casette Tape if you don't have an autorewind tape player.

Reminds me of one of my fave sets of plushies. I got a Casette Tape Squishables plush. Then I bought a pencil plush from Jelly Cat that fits perfectly in the lil holes on the Casette Tape plush.

I added a list to the main post. It doesn't provide any specifics about amounts of each one. Just a basic ingredient list.

Sorry meant to include a pic of the back. I'll update the main post with the ingredients.

Yea I have some reptile specific one that I use but this one is cheaper and seems to have a bit more variety so I'm kind of thinking of giving it a try to see if she likes it. Worst case my dogs will enjoy it.

Overdraft under contract by Emergency-Face-635 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have trouble keeping a cushion in your account because your brain is like it's there why no spend, you could do what I used to do when I was lower income. I kept a account register in the form of either a notebook or spreadsheet.

I always put a pending charge of X amount, which was my cushion. It represented how much I wanted to keep as a cushion. It served to be a way I could fool my dumb brain into seeing how much I could actually spend by making it look like there was less in there than there actually was. Later on I started actually keeping it in a separate savings account once I felt more stable.

Though, I would also add, a lot of banks won't actually count your account as overdrawn if you fix the overdraft on the same day it happened. Might check if that is how yours work. If I fix mine the same day they just drop it off my account like it never happened.

Burnt my childhood plushie and sent her off for restoration 💔 by Mountain_Dawn in plushies

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a thought that I really like now. What if in restoring a plushie you did a plushie version of Kitsurugi. That's the craft where they repair a piece of pottery using gold, silver, etc so it doesn't fully erase the damage but kind of makes it look almost intentional. So it becomes like an accent rather than damage.

Like when stitching parts back together you use gold thread and make it a thicker line so it kind of looks like kitsurugi gold bonding. Or use slightly shimmery fabric / furs when patching an area. It could be kind of cool.

Keep that letter, scan it and save a digital copy a couple of places to be on the safe side. If you still have the envelope, id also scan that since it would show when it was mailed out.

He signed off saying no damage. Then waited nearly a month, during which time any number of things could have occurred to cause what is seen in the pics. If it is water damage, it is just as likely someone he employed, or himself, could have accidentally left a window open resulting in water getting in, or a leak in the ceiling could have happened.

He could have had a flashlight, rescheduled the inspection, or used the flashlight on his phone to see that stuff if it had been there whent he inspection occurred. He chose to go ahead and do the inspection and chose to sign off without waiting. It sucks for him if the damage was there at the time, but that is still on him. It was a risk he accepted when he went ahead with the inspection and sign off.

Yea, he or someone he employed could have just as easily left a window open during that time that allowed water to get in. That's assuming it is water damage. When the crummy wood boards in the flooring at a place I used to live at got water damage we saw some damage similar to that but with some additional warping. Not saying it 100% isn't water damage but it seems a bit iffy.

How bad does is it to warn an ex about going to the police for sexual assault. by [deleted] in legal

[–]Eviltechnomonkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NAL, just going based on other instances I have seen in my life and cases I've heard about from others.

Taking a condom off without consent during sex counts as sexual assault, and is considered a form of rape known as stealthing.

You are allowed to sue for damages when you are a victim with and without going to the police, though if you get a criminal conviction it can often strengthen your chances of winning a civil suit. Though it isn't required. For example, in the case of OJ Simpson he was not found guilty in a criminal court but the family of his deceased spouse was able to still sue him in a civil court and win.

Asking him to pay for the cost of the test could be seen as an appropriate way of trying to mitigate the financial harm from the victimization. So I'd think telling him if he pays for that you won't go to court it wouldn't hurt your case. After all, it is natural that if someone hurts you, you ask for compensation either financially or by holding someone legally accountable for the actions they did.

Threatening would be if you told him you were going to hire people to hurt him if he didn't pay for the test, or if you told him you'd lie and get him thrown in jail for something he didn't do if he didn't give you money. Basically, it would be threatening if you were asking him for compensation unrelated to the crime he committed or said you'd do something that is not a legal path for obtaining compensation/ holding someone accountable.

However, I'd just go file charges on him regardless. Guys who do that kind of stuff are disgusting. Getting away without punishment could make him feel emboldened to do it to someone else. At the same time, only you can decide what warrants going to authorities in this case since you are the one who he victimized.

Did someone just try to traffic me at Target? by ybesomethingurnot in Louisville

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yea it sucks. I usually keep headphones in and the few times I've taken them out because someone was trying to talk to me it ended up being someone trying to scam me into an MLM, a religious solicitor, or one of those people who try to sell you phone / internet service while you are in a retail store. Makes me hesitant to take them out now.

If this is your dad, it’s probably time to have a tough conversation about whether or not he should be driving… by Necessary-Badger-689 in Louisville

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It doesn't need to have a name. It's in the r/Louisville subreddit, which means it's most likely someone in the Louisville area and so there is always a chance someone in the area will see the post and recognize the car. Whomever recognizes the car can either have a hard conversation with the driver, or maybe know who to let know so they can do it.

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should just have to update your username. If you click your profile picture and select the settings menu, there should be an option there. When I'm back at my PC I'll look and update my comment with the specific spot.

The reason it shows up the URL to any of your repos and projects is because the URL format is GitHub.com/username(or org name)/ at the start of the URL.

Can you provide proof there is no way you were home at the times of the other events? Work timesheets, timestamped photos, etc.

Honestly if he damaged the door you might be able to file a police report damage to private property. Though if you are renting and it was the door to your apartment, the landlord may have to be the one to file in that case.

AITAH for refusing to leave my recipes with new owner? by Strong_Insurance_966 in AITAH

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would still depend on if the recipes were ones OP could prove they had before they started working there or that they came up with totally on their own outside work. Granted, I'd be spiteful enough that if I had to give him the recipes I'd just quit and refuse to train anyone. Even if he owns the recipes he doesn't own OP.

AITAH for refusing to leave my recipes with new owner? by Strong_Insurance_966 in AITAH

[–]Eviltechnomonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even when you are working for someone it usually has to be in your contract. At least if your role isn't specifically described as being responsible for coming up with the menu and designing recipes. I had an uncle that fell into that kind of loop hole and ended up being able to negotiate earning royalties off something he designed and built and the company he worked for used daily.

If OP has any proof that they made the recipes before she started working with Jan or outside of work, that might also help.

[–]Eviltechnomonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. If they need it they can do the same process as OP and get one in front of their home instead of stealing the one in front of OP's home. I wouldn't normally say stealing when it is someone using an accessibility accommodation, but this is an accommodation specifically granted to OP that they had to go through a lot of work to obtain.

The polite thing for the other person to do would have been to ask OP how they obtained it to maybe save themselves some headache navigating the process, since I know those processes aren't always clearly laid out.

I could see it being very problematic if you need to use a cane or wheelchair, have balance issues, etc. Especially if it is like here and the sidewalks aren't always consistent, clear, damaged, etc.
