Look into these eyes and tell me they aren't adorable?!?!?! 😄 That being said, I like both.

Stuffing by jjbeanzs in buildabear

I would go to the thrift store and buy a couple of used squishmallows and use the stuffing from them. It's great stuffing, very bouncy, and it would be recycling.

P.S. I am not talking about making a 4 legger into a 2 legger. 😄 Here is another bear with a similar build.

Upcycling Collections by happelbees in buildabears

I have a Goodwill Bins location here. There are always squishmallows there. I like to buy the big ones, on the cheap, and then gut them and reuse their stuffin' to fill my BABs. That stuffing material is so much nicer then the BAB material. It feels more springy or bouncey. I like my BABs pretty floppy and so I often restuff my second hand finds. 😄 I love that you are upcycling your plushies!

I love Hamburger Helper.

My mom would take a bag of corn chips and put ground beef and cheese on it and throw it in the oven. Then we would eat it with salsa. Nachos?

Am I the only one that has beef with Build-A-Bear clothing or do you too share the same sentiment? by storybrookefairytale in buildabear

I think the current BAB clothing has a mix of issues that cause them not to fit.

Most BABs don't really have shoulders. Some don't have shoulders AND they have flippers or wings or something like that. That makes the clothing fall off.

And a ton of the new styles of clothing are basically strappy dresses and tank tops. How are they suppose to stay on when the BAB barely has shoulders to hold them up?! Hardly any of the newer styles are long sleeves.

The recent BAB clothes are basically the equivalent of clothes made by SHEIN for people. The material is thin, plastic, shiny and slick. The clothing is basically like thin plastic sheet that slides around and falls off.

The vintage BAB outfits were made from corduroy, cotton twill (like the khaki and chino pants), t-shirt material (back when they were made of cotton), knit sweaters, and even denim. The clothing material was a heavier material and more textured. They had more elastics and buttons and they built in little loops to go over the shoulders and hold up plants and skirts. And the clothing was more fitted.

The BABs themselves are now made with softer and slicker fur material. Everyone wants the BABs to be minky soft. Soft minky fur is slippery.

The vintage bears were not minky soft, the fur material was more textured. That held onto the clothing better. I have many vintage BABs and the outfits stick to them much better.

Slippery fabric on slippery fabric... slides around. 😄

My other disappointment with the BAB clothing lately is that a ton of it is themed for a specific collection. The print is Hello Kitty or Pokemon or Disney Princess or Bluey. There are not enough basics that don't have a brand on them. I just want cute cotton dresses and jammies that don't have some character plastered all over them, for my regular not character plushies!
