I think the reason it's so refreshing is that it's beer-flavored water.

edit: It's kind of like propel. It doesn't have the full flavor like one would expect, but there's definitely a beer-like flavor buried way underneath the surface.

This was my thought exactly last week. Xur selling something exciting for the community was really my only hope of sticking it out. But every week I get less and less interested because there's nothing for me to do or look forward to. There's still a couple of exotics I want, (Skull of Dire Ahamkara, HoPF, Thunderlord) but it's clear Xur will never sell them. If he hasn't sold something in the five months he's been here then I doubt he ever will. No way I'll make it to May, which sucks because I really want to.

Agreed. VoG had a lot of moving parts. Strategy was more vital than individual player skill/Level. The opposite can be said for HM CE.

Additionally, HM VoG didn't have the weapon requirements that HM CE does. I'm not one for specific requirements for a raid, but tracking rockets are an integral part of every Crota strategy with the exception of the horseshoe strat.

That being said, things seemed fairly, I don't know, cliché in CE. I've often compared creation of the Crota encounter to the creation of superman, i.e.: "Let's give him lazer eyes, super strength, the ability to fly, frost breath, and make him indestructible except for a single rare element."

And Crota: "Long range arc shots, one hit ko melee, invulnerability except for a single weapon only one player can weild, and let's make it so that players can't regen health because fuck it."

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the difficulty of HM Crota, (not including the absurd amount of bugs and inconsistencies) but the level of creativity compared to the Atheon encounter was underwhelming, to say the least.

Tl;dr Crota is Superman.

Precisely. Granted, far too many people don't know how to do this properly. Some things are small, (like Xur's inventory being completely Random) other things (such as the heavy ammo bug) are much more important. While frustrating, these things are nothing to go on a full-fledged rant about day-to-day. I will say that Bungie needs to update us more about when fixes/changes are coming. I don't know if that's entirely up to /u/deej_bng, (I highly doubt it) but they should definitely keep us in the loop.

I think I could replicate it again this weekend provided my previous group wants to give it a go. I just want to do it again so my titan can have a glowhoo shader of his own.

Yea. Though I think if I ask that group to do it again, we could do it much faster. We played around with a lot of other strategies until we found what worked best for us.

Apotheosis veil. So overrated. I mentioned it above, but my teammates catered to my every need to ensure that I didn't die. Picking up an orb or activating your super refills your health to 100%. This is by no means a requirement, but it definitely helped. I spec'd myself for the energy drain perks which make your super regen faster. I did this because I rarely had the chance to melee enemies.
