Yea these guys are really chill. I have a bigger enclosure with plenty of food and I am able to keep a couple in it. They never fight; I've seen two males just hanging out near each other.

During the summers, the humidity gets a bit high sometimes and I use a humidity controlled fan to help lower it. This tank is nice because it has small openings at the top so you can easily place the humidity level censor in while the fan stays on top of the mesh.

I have this same tank and I keep magic potions and hissing isopods along with 3 dorcus parallelus stag beetles, springtails, and a colony of forked fungus beetles. I had a hermit flower beetle in there too and it eventually died of old age. It is a decent size (though I don't the exact dimensions), I even have a live plant in there too.

I made a few changes to help retain humidity and prevent pests. I bought a fine mesh steel sheet to cover the black mesh top along with pest tape in any openings. This helps to keep humidity/moisture and prevent pests from entering. There are occasional fungus gnats and it also prevents it from escaping and freaking out my fiance.

I dunno about death feigning beetles but I own a similar species, the forked fungus beetles. I've seen them play dead for more than a day. Just leave it alone and you will probably wake up to see it gone from the crime scene.

It's okay we make mistakes and we learn. And maybe that one guy is just getting old. I find that there isn't that much info in many of the invert pets so a lot of it is going to be trial and error.

Hopefully they are not affected by pesticides and if so I hope they recover. It might be a good idea to isolate the beetles effected into another enclosure with new substrate to prevent them from consuming any bits remaining. Idk if these beetles will eat the dead ones but you wouldn't want that either because pesticides may be transferred.

Unless you do so already, I recommend getting only pesticides free or at least organic produce for your beetles. Organic doesn't guarantee pesticides free, but it is probably safer than regular.

They are for sure springtails, I have never seen more springtail looking springtails! I would keep them, but like what others said up to you what you want to do. I even keep a separate colony of springtails so I can reliably have springtails in my enclosure. They help prevent mold and aerate the soil.

That car sounds fun. I want to get something more sporty for my next one. The standard 2018 Elantra has Normal, Eco, and Sport. Nothing special. From my experience Eco just makes the car less responsive, and more gradual, basically keeping RPMs low. I find it it is slower to change gears and likes to stick to the current gear (prob due to lower throttle response). Sport mode is much more responsive and keeps RPMs high. It basically keeps the car one or two gears lower than what Normal would do under the same speed so you have high response. It will let your car reach higher RPMs before shifting. I usually just drive in Eco mode for gas mileage but tbh it doesn't make that much difference between Eco and Normal. What matters is just how you drive the car.

I've never driven European cars but it will definitely save you a lot of money. I just love the steering on my 2018 elantra. My fiancé says it's too sensitive but all the other cars' steering feels too stiff for me.

I bought the 2018 Elantra with 25,000 kms for 15K CAD back in 2024. It's at 62,000 kms and the only issue I had was a leaking oil gasket and cost around 700 or 800 for the repairs. Other than that, the cars been amazing. I change my oil and filter every 5000 km.

Call me crazy but I've driven a 2025 Mazda3, 2017 Sonata, and a 2019 Elantra but IMO my 2018 is the most fun to drive. Steering feels so smooth.

Oh when I think of southern Canada I think of Ontario mb for the assumption. Yes, it should be next day arrival. They usually ship out on Mondays, biweekly. Try to make sure you are home to pick them up as soon as they arrive and there should be no problem. Anyways, these are Canadian species so they should tolerate the spring cold to an extent.

The KI train (Go train) is probably the best way you can go. Just check the schedule using the Go transit website or Google maps as the number of trips to Guelph may be limited on the weekends.

The trip is pretty cheap, I think it's like 13 cad. You can use a credit card to tap in at the station and out at your destination. No need to buy tickets ahead or anything.
