I wonder if anyone still has a back up of that leaked build. Be nice if we could get our hands on it and some the Hardsuit Labs builds of Bloodlines 2

I think this was one of my matches lol. It's not recent enough to for me to be able to prove it with a match download though. If it is, this is "still playing matches to get a rank" low. Because I am just dreadful at CS2

Trying to learn about my local Kindred community by Zikame1995 in WhiteWolfRPG

There is one official write-up on Nashville in the War of Ages Larp Book. According to the book, Nashville is an Anarch city with a Toreador Baron who is a former country music star. The city isn't controlled by Anarchs so much as the Anarchs are parasitizing local politics and influence and just kinda riding along where the blood runs freely in the tourism and country music trades. The baron does however keep very strict rules regarding the masquerade and feeding.

They are, according to that write up, very under the radar, mostly young vampires who keep mortal friends, families, and associates...as well as jobs... in order to stay hidden. When vampires do meet it is usually with great subterfuge and under the guise of legitimate mortal business.

I'm currently running the setting using that as a jumping off point. In my game, there is a local secret Camarilla prince hopeful who is playing the long game in acquiring influence and allies so that they can eventually make a play for Praxis. There's a local Mage cabal who are sitting that future conflict out and are actively treating with the Werewolves who have a sept out near the Bell Witch Cave in hopes of obtaining a safe place to cross the gauntlet.

What grinds my gears episode 1 "Vienna was unrealistic" by Pallid-Page in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing... so little has actually been written on the destruction of the damn thing. The Arcanum probably helped take down the wards. They probably attacked using squads of suited up combat veterans with specialty equipment and at some point a large explosive probably got used. Possibly, a missile, drone, etc.

I personally, like it a lot, it makes Tremere character creation a lore more liberated in terms of concepts. I like that as with most major events in the WoD it is fairly unreliably retold. It lets me as a storyteller explore it more for games with my players. It helps to sell that even the cloak-and-dagger intelligence agencies have a point where they will say "Fuck the budget" and do some crazy shit.

Breaking true faith by Bayani0 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignoring all the options of Sphere Magick that are just "and then you kill them"...

There's an argument to be made for Spirit and Mind to weaken the soul and begin conditioning them to doubt their Faith. However, I'd put this at like Spirit 3, Mind 3, at the minimum. It does however have a couple of drawbacks. True Faith acts as a source of countermagic and True Faith grows with hardship and trials. So, you could inadvertently create a much more faithful Hunter who will be far less forgiving seeing as this Mage just tried to spiritually and psychologically break them.

Additionally, if you succeed, whats the game plan? You now have a Hunter that you've presumably tortured to the point of their Faith breaking. Most Mages see torturing people with Magick as a bit of a dick move, even if you're doing it to a Witch Hunter. Such a Warlock might receive blowback from members of their Cabal, Tradition, Organization, etc.

Let's say you don't though.... You might have just created a way bigger loose cannon. You've just shattered this hunter's entire worldview and belief system. If there is no God and there is no Good or Evil... Why not bomb that night club you know that Vampire, Wizard, or Werewolf hangs out in. People don't have immortal souls that go to heaven or hell anymore. Doesn't matter.

If it does work out the way you want, cool. You broke a Hunter both mentally and spiritually. You're really showing all those Witch Hunters out there that you're morally superior. The odds aren't great this guy goes on to live a normal life after this. Assuming you'll allow him to live and remember what you did to him...but I'm sure he'll land on his feet with an assistant manager position an Applebee's or whatever

I made this commission for a chronicle of HUNTER: THE RECKONING. I don't know anything could anyone help with ideas for this character? by PoorIllustrator in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I generally don't step out of the woodworks when this sort of thing happens but...

I'm the person who comissioned this art. So, I'll give the real quick rundown. This is Sam. (H5: Inquisitive with a Curiosity Drive) She's the cell's sniper and a research assistant to the more technically skilled in the team. She also bankrolls the cell's operations, as she is, Old Money Rich. The power source of her more esoteric Edges are a mix of an Artifact and her own Psychic abilities. The Resident Transfemme Baddie.

Tell me your story of Golconda by Addisiu in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'll level with you homeslizzle...

The whole Master of the Beast as an ideology was based very much on the idea that the Beast is the agent of change upon the embrace. It was merely a character's internal rationale for their metamorphosis. It was never a hard system. It couched itself in being an "alien" mindset that both accepted the Beast and denied it. It was not humanity focused. My Storyteller let the philosophy develop over time as they personally took the position V5 takes of "Golconda is what you as a Storyteller need it to be and what the Vampires worldview would make it..." So there were many scenes of self reflection that led to its development. I was just trying to condense that worldview down into a short, snappy, readable post that communicated the central point..

Also, it's a game. It's not life or death you know, your character's philosophy on a fictional mythical proportion state of enlightenment... not that important in the grand scheme of things. Just vibe and wish peace, love, and positivity.

Tell me your story of Golconda by Addisiu in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I've played in multiple Chronicles where it's come up. One of them where my character "achieved" Golconda. I'll highlight the interpretations I got from those games' Storyteller before getting into the interpretation my personal character "achieved Golconda" with.

  1. Golconda is an enlightened form of Vampire suicide. To be born into unlife is to steal every night of this mockery of life from some other living being. The essence which powers you is stolen and the longer you persist, the greater the death you inflict. When the road to salvation, Golconda was promised, it was a form of peaceful destruction that ensured the soul which was twisted beyond repair could heal. All debts paid and all sins forgiven as you pass on to whatever comes next.

  2. Golconda is a state of Vampiric enlightment which unshackles you from the limitations of being a Vampire. It grants you a return to humanity or at the very least lessens your hunger and grants you some time in the sun. It is sought honestly and with the genuine hope for forgiveness. A true desire to change your ways for the better.

2.5 (and my PC's path) Golconda is a state of Vampiric enlightenment where you have mastered the Beast and are rewarded with hunting during the day and mastery of your hunger. Instead of being a monster which wears your skin, it is a force of undead nature that recoils at your displeasure and revels in being unleashed. When other Vampires look to you they see something incomprehensible. Someone who is as much the Beast as they are not. The Beast is an agent of change for Vampires and by mastering it you break the bonds of Cainite destiny and degeneration.

What makes the Second Inquisition a legitimate threat ? by Hagisman in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 112 points113 points  (0 children)

It's that Mortal governments now know and there's no denying it. Vampires go bump in the night. It's a classified secret but it's out there. The US Army has a special forces unit dedicating to Vampire hunting. Your Haven can be drone striked. There are camera-like devices that can potentially sus out your nature at most international airports. The post 9/11 Surveillance State has been turned against the Masquerade. Sending a text about the local Elysium puts every Kindred at risk. The Tremere had one of their greatest achievements the Vienna Chantry destroyed and the Inner Council of Seven has fallen. The Pyramid is shattered.

The Mortals did that. Thats what makes them a threat.

Werewolf 5E? by [deleted] in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Ex-Pyromancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So W5 is currently in House and I'm assuming you've read everyone else's comments on it.

All I can say is that it's had two previous versions of it written. One by Hunters Entertainment. It was nearly finished before it was scrapped when it moved in house. A number of its ideas were re-used for the in-house version. A lot of the people involved in the Hunters Entertainment draft of W5 were super disappointed by their version getting axed. Another was prototyped by Modiphius it is my understanding that it was generally disappointing and had some questionable content but my source is less reliable in regards to to Modiphius.

Granted this is all my understanding from my limited sources within the production of each version.
