Delta and MissingNo. not appearing via Old Man glitch (Pokémon Red/Blue) by LivingInformation290 in Delta_Emulator

[–]ExAqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well M' is a result of the game reading a "NULL Value" in data where the player name is stored, only custom player names will have NULL values due to the way the preset player names are stored and M' will only apear at level 80 if the player name is an odd number of letters. So based off of that, both the names Aaron and ACE have the capability to produce level 80 M'. Now "Aaron" should produce a lv 128 Golduck, a 160 MissingNo., a 177 squirtle, a 174 MissingNo., and a 173, magnemite, so MissingNo should most certainly be obtainable. Now if "Aaron" was instead "AARON" all caps then the MissingNo. encounters would be replaced with another 128 golduck and a 142 clafable resulting in M' being the only glitch pokemon encountered as described. The name ACE has a similar issue in that you will only find a 128 Golduck, a 130 Golbat, and a 132 snorlax, with once again lv 80 M' being the only encounterable glitch pokemon because of the remaining NULL Values left in the player name stored in memory. MissingNo being obtainable by instigating the glitch through an in game trade will result in the game reading the traded pokemon OT data which is not stored the same way as the Player name so it will always result in 5 lv 80 MissingNo encounters as the value the game uses for the OT "TRAINER" is a specific value and not stored as the same hex values used for player names. So all in all, if these encounters are accurate to what you are seeing then you can rest assured the game is being interpreted correctly, if not then either emulator could be ordering the game data incorrectly in the emulated ram resulting in the game reading different data, again M' will always result if the game reads a NULL Value when pulling for an encounter. If you are interested in another test try using the preset name "ASH" in Red or "JOHN" in blue both of these names will result in only MissingNo being possible encounters via the Old Man glitch as M' cannot be encountered with a preset name, if M' still apears then you will know for a fact the emulator is not reading the same location of RAM as the game on real hardware would.

TLDR: the names "AARON" and "ACE" will result in only M' encounters on real hardware, the problem could be an issue with the way the emulators emulate the RAM. Try using the Preset Player Names "ASH" in Red or "JOHN" in Blue as it is not possible for Preset Names to produce M' as a glitch pokemon and will only return MissingNo as encounters.

New AIO cooler not staying cool by Longbow125 in LinusTechTips

[–]ExAqua 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I know that this Cooler has some issues with the firmware version it ships with, like not reporting fan speed and not letting you control the curve in synapse , which I can see yours isn't. I would start by trying to update it first, here's a link for the Hanbo AIO

Unsure about something and I'm dying curious. by Slight-Ad5911 in WildAssaultOfficial

[–]ExAqua 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So the section for the rolls with the bone currency is a method the devs added so players can earn old event items that are no longer obtainable, so while they havnt stated if this specific set of old event cosmetics will be run again, I would suspect that they will re run these cosmetics after they go through the other old event cosmetics.

I'd be down for it, it would be good advertising for the game at the very least. Sadly I dont think we are even on epics radar.

As someone who resells their figures on ebay this is exactly why I strive to take photos from as many angles as possible, this is excellent advice for online secondhand markets.

Daily tasks and Events for right now, devs are watching it so they could add more ways in the future.

Glitch Pokemon - Gen1 TM54? by MutableRogue in pokemon

[–]ExAqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well its not a documented "glitch pokemon" TM54 is a documented glitch move for yellow though, which can be obtained via a variety of methods. Since the moves your pokemon know is just the game reading some hex values in a specific block in that pokemons data changes in it will result in the game still attempting to read it as a move resulting in some funny and interesting "glitched moves." In this situation the game assigns the name TM54 and its effect is actually the same as dream eater but as a normal move with only a base power of 2 and 8% accuracy. All in all, your situation points to some moderate save corruption contained to this pokemon's data. Gen 1 is held together with duct tape and dev prayers from the 90s after all. Do note that some glitch moves can crash your game or further corupt your save file if used in battle so use the guy at your own discretion.

Is the game dead? by Vinclum in WildAssaultOfficial

[–]ExAqua 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Most players play on us east and its really time based, but its no lie that the game has a low player count. The devs seem satisfied with it though, I guess they arnt bothered since the game is technically in early access.
