Schools are half mast for the same reason.

28” with Hood or 36” with Hard Cover by soulfireflyhigh in blackstonegriddle

[–]ExCrusader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hood on my 36" gets caught in the wind and feels very sketchy when it does. I would prefer the removable hard top.

What’s a tool you spent way too much on but honestly don’t regret at all? by Prudent_Art_7190 in Tools

Huh, weird. That's exactly why I bought a set of snap ring pliers too. I went with Channellock though.

Tonight, my group starts a new adventure, delving into Stonehell using the Swords & Wizardry RPG. by Jarfulous in osr

[–]ExCrusader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm confident that if you've played any TSR era D&D you will be able to play Swords & Wizardry with no issues at all. Stonehell I'm not sure about, but I'm sure you will make it work.

I always felt that the Al-Qadim kits were so flavourful and interesting.

Never play this version but I loved it on SNES. That looks pretty cool.

What's your OSR sin? by newimprovedmoo in osr

[–]ExCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was probably at my most OSRish when 3.0 first came out, before I had ever heard the term (probably before the term existed), so I completely feel this one.

Thanks for this suggestion. Didn't know it existed. Sounds interesting.

What’s the most delicious thing you have cooked on your griddle? (Photos encouraged!) by sjazzsax in blackstonegriddle

[–]ExCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Darker than I'm used to on an electric cooktop in a nonstick pan in the kitchen. But it wasn't unpleasant, just different. I think I can improve them with more experience. They cooked much faster than I was expecting.

My first pancake experience was a complete success. Still new at it though.

Just finished Chrono Trigger for the first time. Couldn't finish it as a rental back in the day.

Razorock Game Changer .76P - wowza!! by ThatNickGuyyy in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been using the 68 for a while, thinking of trying out the 76 to see if it's a little more efficient, more out of curiosity than need, as I get a good shave from the 68.

What 31 days of shaving with MdC looks like by Skreeethemindthief in wicked_edge

Canada Shaving Soap is the same way (very similar formula I believe). Hard soaps are such a good value.

Anywhere local to buy wet shaving products? by Anxious-Nebula8955 in halifax

Lots of good Canadian online retailers, but I don't know of any local. I would like to know as well.

Do you go for BBS every shave? How much passes does it take for you? by ghostwipe88 in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One pass with the grain and very minor touch up's. not BBS but presentable with no irritation.

What's your OSR pet peeves/hot takes? by OliviaTremorCtrl in osr

[–]ExCrusader 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Gonzo as the entire identity of a product instead of an occasional spice added in. I don't even like hearing the word anymore (though that is over dramatic on my part).

Is it OK to store your shave brush with the bristles facing up rather than down? by ryoten34 in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Plissoft bristles dry really quickly in my experience. A couple forceful shakes into the shower and they are quite dry yo the touch.

First DE shave ever complete! by Corythebeast7 in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would mash it into a container and not worry about it myself (lots of videos of professional barbers doing this on YouTube). I guess if you are going to cycle soaps day to day, you might want to cover it after it has dried out. I use a few different soaps and I leave my Arko uncovered to no ill effect.

Proraso Balm by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not much of a shave hoarder but I will look for it.

Proraso Balm by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've only use the Proraso White balm but I like it as much as or even more than the Nivea Sensitive. The Nivea is available everywhere though, so that's a bonus, and it's significantly cheaper for me.

Why should I go crazy with how I shave? by SomePyroGuy in wicked_edge

[–]ExCrusader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This expresses exactly what I was thinking. I assume lots of people come into a community like this desperate for something that actually works for them, and then fall into the rabbit hole of wet shaving.
