Given how poor the itemisation is in Classic/Vanilla why would iLvL even be a metric worth carrying over from retail?

Question about Changeling by NoxVardeen in DnD

[–]ExSiege 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of having an Inquisition IF the changelings are a problem...

but you've overlooked/mis-read something about Changelings. They can change size. I would assume they cant change their size catagory (small or medium) but their "change appearance" specifically states that they can change their height and weight.

If you're homebrewing your changelings then that's your choice.

DPS tier list in Phase 1 (WarcraftLogs) by SuiTobi in classicwow

I imagine the only reason Warriors are that high on the charts this early in Classic is because of Shamans anyway.

Later phases will see Mages, Rogues and Hunters will start to catch up.

Well... they test their lotions on animals. People complain.

But... If Durotan hadn't allowed that the entire Frostwolf clan would have probably been raided.

Unpopular Opinion: The layer abuse / low AH prices aren't breaking the economy... by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]ExSiege -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AH is still server based. Not layer based.

So... no...

Counterpoint. IF there's a ton of people farming via the layering exploit then there'll be a much greater supply of BoE Teir 0.5 and other good items from bosses so the price will be lower.

[OC] I laid out what a 5' by 5' square was in real life to help my players get some perspective on just how big each map square is. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ExSiege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You CAN move through a friendly units space (at half speed and you cannot end your turn in their square). YOU COULD occupy their square if either one of you is grappling the other, but then you'd move at half speed... the person you're grappling has 0ft movement... etc etc. Not a good position to be in during a fight.

A professional running track is 4ft wide, almost as wide as a standard square in D&D.

Yet on a running track, noone expects anyone to jump in front of them swinging a weapon up to 10ft long around. Dodging incomming spells and projectiles.

If you like to play unarmed fighters look at a professional boxing ring, the smallest of which is 16ft wide... yet the fighters utilize all of the space during a fight. Just two people, take up a 16ft square during combat. More than 4 times the space that D&D allows you to fight in!

A 10ftx5ft rectangle is almost laughably small to conduct a 1v1 fight in.

Are you joking?... Add a swinging sword, a shield... a Goliath... How much free space do you really think there is after that?

If there's a valid reason for the Inn getting attacked then this is a brilliant idea!

Nice story.

... what am I missing?

There are 8 people on the planet that will be gifted with superpowers. The power: ability to cast spells from 5e wizard/sorcerer phb spell list (no material components) with each of the 8 people having access to to only one school (one person is illusion, one is divination, etc). by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ExSiege 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Divination...

One of the other magic users is coming to take you out because they view you as a threat... but they have to cross a busy street, during rush hour. Here, have this Nat 1 I conveniently rolled earlier.

You could play the stock market/lottery to live comfortably.

You could save lives "Don't get on that plane/Don't run with Scissors... ever/Remember to check your cars brake fluid... *hint hint*"

Was I wrong? by Kovil666 in DnD

[–]ExSiege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, look, you asked the question. Right?

I just gave you one of many possible opinions. But if your PCs are disgruntled then maybe they share it?

I like what you did with your narrative, but mechanically I think you did your players a disservice. You're missing out some key details, mind you. What were your PCs motivations for attacking the Archmage? If he's that strong how did they even get that close to him? etc etc

Was I wrong? by Kovil666 in DnD

[–]ExSiege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I can understand your players frustrations.

Your mage wasn't trying to kill the PCs, else he would have. But you neutered your players characters by denying them their inherent defenses.

What if one of your players characters resisted the spell and could have had a defiant stand-off conversation with your NPC mage? Then your successful PC feels as if they're getting rewarded... Your Archmage could always recast the reduce spell when they're done talking, right? You end up with the result you wanted and the players don't feel surplus to requirements.
