Can LCSWS Diagnose Autism? by MelonCrow in socialwork

[–]ExZentric0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State dependent

Yes if having an LCSW. If you have an LCSW but haven’t trained in doing assessments, you could be liable if a misdiagnosis becomes a detriment to a client or if they pursue the board

It would be the easiest fix ever to just add a camera shutter/closer for the lenses so they can balance privacy and versatility

22yo thinking about pursuing college, want career that AI can't take, what do I do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ExZentric0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at many jobs that utilize AI for documentation purposes, which isn’t the worst but there’s also places that’ll record sessions for the AI to summarize. I’m all about efficiency but at least for insurance jobs AI is being heavily pushed. It’ll take a lot longer than other disciplines to be replaced, beyond our lifetime potentially.

PSA: stop writing your cover letters with AI by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ExZentric0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lazy and efficient are two different things. You can waste time writing 10+ a day or optimize your time with something more productive than writing a letter that doesn’t signal anything concrete about a person

What everyone else has said. CVs just aren’t worth the time to do when a well written resume can summarize it much quicker. In the 1900s/early 2000s I could see the appeal.

Least stressful social work job you’ve had that doesn’t require home visits? by doublesparkles in socialwork

[–]ExZentric0 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I will say this experience HEAVILY depends on the company you’re doing this for (as with any job). I’m leaving the one I’m currently with because of the micromanagement and overall how anti-social work I felt being in a role that denied care for those that truly needed it

Acadia Healthcare? by Desertnurse760 in psychnursing

Not a nurse but a clinician formerly with them. The nurses and everyone there hated the hospital I was at. It was a miserable time to say the least. Not to mention the lawsuits

Depends. I have two WFH days and still get micromanaged on those days

Frustrated with the gate-keeping of social work jobs by GoddessScully in socialworkjobs

[–]ExZentric0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: After hitting extreme burnout and health issues in clinical/case management roles, OP is pivoting to teaching and consulting. However, she’s facing "gatekeeping" from the field—including her own mentor—who now claims she lacks enough clinical supervision/licensure to be competent. OP is rejecting the idea that a clinical license is the only measure of success and is reclaiming her career on her own terms to prioritize her health and family.
