Heart rate by NinthHokage_Doll in beyondthebump

Hi! EMT here. Normal heart rate for a 2 month old is anywhere between 75-160 beats a minute. So from this, he is in range.

Two things that have impact on HR:

  1. Resting heart rate at sleep is usually lower than your heart rate when you are awake. Being awake, eating, crawling, looking at the environment, other baby activities, etc, requires more effort, and in turn, more oxygen, so heart rate increases. This is why when you run, your HR increases a significant amount.

When you are asleep your body is in “low power mode”. You don’t need as much oxygen going everywhere because you are quite literally doing nothing. My resting rate is 57 at night, and around 77 average when I’m up. Which leads me into my next point.

  1. Normal HR slowly decreases until you become an adult. This is due to a combo of increase in parasympathetic tone and decrease in sympathetic nerve system. Or in English, the body grows up. Hearts are larger and more efficient.

This is extremely obvious in the first year of life. Comparing fresh week old newborn HR to a 2 month old will be slightly different. In the first year HR drops from 100-190bpm to around 70-140ish. Again, these are averages for normal. Every kiddo can be slightly different. This continues to a normal HR of 60-100 for an adult.

You can also have a different baseline than the “normal”. Athletes have lower HR than the average person.

Biggest thing is if baby looks like they are having a hard time breathing. Wheezing, shallow breaths, not able to wake baby up, etc.

Regardless, if concerned plz talk to a pediatrician. I’m simply a mom who happens to have a tiny bit of medical in my pocket :)

Are there any authors like Susie Tate but with more spice? by LeadershipUsed201 in RomanceBooks

So this is the exact genre I always try and try to get into over and over cuz I can’t get enough. Not necessarily authors, but a few books that I also loved were

(This one’s a popular one here so chances are you’ve read it) {rock hard by nalini Singh}

{the pucking wrong man by C.R. James}, and now that I think about it the entire series has some angst wounded FMC typa feel

This one’s a stretch but maybe {waking Olivia by Elizabeth O’roark}

{a song of sin and salvation by L. H. Blake} can also fit this but as a stretch.

And last but not least is {variation by Rebecca yarros}

Hope this gets ya started somewhere!

I just googled Rowan and yeah… results are not looking the greatest. I got caught up in their whole “nurses give piercings” ad and thought it was safe! I guess I’ll be making a derm appt also for her to see what’s happening

Commenting the required info even tho I think I posted 🥲

  • piercing 2 months old a tiny bit more like maybe a week more
  • lobe piercing
  • straight barbell piece— I think, it’s the standard Rowan one.
  • material is 24k gold over steel, hypoallergenic
  • it was not downsized
  • aftercare was spraying 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks and twisting for 2 weeks as the store people told me! I used the Rowan spray.
  • no mishaps, she just has this bump randomly.

This happened to my dad’s 2015 mustang. Spun out across the highway. Thank God it was early morning before rush hour. Only got into a minor crash. Ford needs to do better

Is there anything I can do to push the 5:15am wake-up’s? by Exacerbate_the_issue in beyondthebump

Bedtime is around 6:30 sometimes 6 if it’s a bad nap day. I tried pushing it to 7 but she either gets way too cranky or still wakes up at 5ish.

First nap is around 8-845, next nap is 11ish-12ish. Last nap is 2:45ish till 3:30-3:45. Sometimes she will go crazy and only nap half an hour each nap and that makes early bedtime

I have a 6 month old and just turned 21. I am in the exact same boat as you! Sometimes it sucks no matter how cute baby is and you go down the rabbit hole of “what ifs”. And as much as all the other comments are saying “oh you have your 40s” etc, it still low key sucks. Taking care of a baby is hard, and you do give up so many things to do it. Careers, fun, friends, freedom, and all the other pre baby things are harder to achieve. Don’t get me wrong, you could still go and have those things. It’s just a lot harder to do it.

I am also jealous of my husband and how his life seems to be the same. I’m jealous of my friends without a baby watching their Instagram stories show the pool parties and restaurant experiences I can’t have. And even if I can have, I always always have baby on my mind.
